迷途知返的典故

晋代大诗人陶渊明在中国文学史上是非常有名的。虽然其家世代为官，但他八岁丧父，十二岁丧母，家境非常贫寒。而陶渊明人穷志不短，勤奋读书。后来，他在叔父的引荐下成为彭泽（今属江西）县令。然而，陶渊明本性热爱自然，上任没几天便思念故土，想辞官归去。他觉得，出来当官只是为了糊口，可衣食无忧之后却由于所做之事违反了内心本意，非常痛苦。不久，陶渊明的妹妹在武昌（今河北鄂城）去世。他想立刻去吊唁，于是辞去了官职。就这样，陶渊明仅当了八十多天的官就又过上了田园生活。又据记载，陶渊明是因不肯屈从于郡里派来的一个盛气凌人的督邮，才交出官印，隐居田园的。陶渊明隐居后，便写下了《归去来兮辞》，也就是成语迷途知返的出处。在这篇赋的序中，他总结了自己走过的生活道路，认识到过去虽已无可挽回，但未来的事还来得及弥补。意思是出来当官已错，现在归隐还来得及。自己确实迷失了道路，好在虽迷了路但还知道回来。他的许多田园诗正是在此之后创作出来的。
