译文
拂晓时分，早莺初啼，残月西沉，绣阁里才刚刚吹灭了香灯。门外马儿嘶鸣，情郎又要离别，何况正是这春暮落花的时节，更让人惆怅难堪。
她梳妆之后却无心描画蛾眉，满含愁怨地独自倚着金扉，思念远去的情郎。她不愿扫去他离去路上的那些香尘，行迹长留还能告慰相思，只怕扫去香尘，他就会久久不归。
注释
清平乐：词牌名，又名《清平乐令》、《醉东风》、《忆萝月》等。
绣阁：旧时女子闺房。
香灯：闺中的灯。
蛾眉：形容女子细长而柔美的眉毛。蚕蛾的触须细长而曲，故称。
金扉：闺阁房门的美称。
香尘莫扫：香尘，指遗留有郎君香气的尘土，古代民间习俗，凡家中有人出门，是日家人忌扫门户，否则行人将无归期。

清平乐·莺啼残月鉴赏
这是一首描写青年情侣的惜别之词，词人用清秋、残月、莺啼、马嘶等画面与声响，交相渲染秋天早晨的凄凉气氛，映衬出女主人公离别时悲痛欲绝的感情。
词的上片写别时的情景。在个清秋的早晨，女主人公的丈夫就要远出。枝头响起紫莺啼晓的叫声，西边天空中，尚挂着一弯淡淡的月亮，留连不肯隐去。即将的离别使相爱的人儿有诉说不尽的情思，以致于夜无眠。然而离别的时刻终于来到。门外响起凄厉的马嘶，在催促行者赶快动身。后柳永《雨霖铃》谓“多情自古伤离别。更那堪冷落清秋节”，概括性她表达了同样的人生感受。语序安排也十分精致，传达出极深的意蕴。首先，“莺啼残月”，点出时闻是早晨；“绣阁香灯火”。说明二人沉浸于离别的痛苦之中，于灯下互诉衷情，竟不知黑夜已经过去。是早莺的啼鸣，西斜的弯月，唤醒了这对爱人，始知吹灭燃着的油灯，离别的早晨已经来临。接下来的“门外马嘶郎欲别”，以不通人情的马儿偏又在门外长声嘶叫，来描写离别时刻的迫近和二人的难舍难分之情。而“正是花时节”一句，既交代了季节是在秋天，又描画出秋风瑟瑟，落红纷纷的景色。女主人公出门送郎，觅此凄凉之景。哀伤痛苦之情倍增。“正是”二字，同时总结以上的场景描写，强调出景物对人的感染。张炎《词论》曾云：“词之难于令曲，犹诗之难于绝句。不过十数句，一句一字不得闲。”这首词的语言就显现了韦庄运用词这种艺术形式的造诣之高深。
下片抒写了女主人公的离别之思。“妆成不画蛾眉”，十分细腻地刻画了女主人公的心态。离别后的一个早晨，她在对镜梳妆。云髻高耸，零簪横插，脂粉薄埯。她拿起黛笔，正待画眉，却端详着镜中那张青春美丽的脸庞，唤起心中无限酸苦。困挠她的，不仅是为谁梳妆、为谁打扮的烦恼，而且有青春易逝、容颜易老、独守绣户、虚度年华的痛楚。这就是下句中“含愁”的内涵。她因而一阵心灰意懒，放下画笔，走到门边，凝视着门外的那条小路，然而，小路空空，不见人影。思念之情是这样折磨人，所以女主人公吩咐道“去路香尘莫扫，扫即郎去归迟。”那小路上还留着郎出行时的足迹。千万不能扫去，她要时时看见，仿佛郎才刚刚离去；扫去它，便使人觉得郎去已久，迟迟不归，思念之情更难忍受。留着它，纵使郎没有归来，这足迹也聊可慰人情怀。少女的痴心痴情令人怜悯。《长干行》曰：“门前旧行迹，一一生绿苔。苔深不能扫，落叶秋风早。”疑韦庄的词意即从此化出，但李白诗是叙述口吻，韦庄词则以祈使语气，在表达女主人公的情感上更加强烈。
这首词，上片写景而情景交融，下片抒情而情致深婉。词人把这种洋溢着生活气息，植根于民间习俗的语言、运用到词中来，既表现了女主人公的痴情，又提高了词的艺术表现力，集中体现了这首词的“无理而妙”。全篇语言秀美，情真动人。
