译文
赤阑桥同芳香的繁华街市笔直连接，笼罩街市的细柳娇弱无力。金碧辉煌的楼阁直上青空，花映晴日，隔着帘帷透过红影，黄衫贵少骑着飞奔的白马，日日寻花问柳，系马在青楼下。两眼醉朦胧，在闹市上横冲直撞旁若无人，正午风吹花香，散入马蹄扬起的暗尘。

赤阑桥：又称赤栏桥，赤红栏杆的桥，在安徽合肥城南。香街：指各种香气混杂的繁华街市。
金碧：指金碧辉煌的楼阁。
黄衫：贵族的华贵服装。
青楼：指妓院。
菩萨蛮·赤阑桥尽香街直创作背景
陈克亲历两宋之交的战乱，其词虽对时世有所反应，但词还是承"花间"和北宋的婉丽之风，以描写粉融香润的生活和闲适之情见长。此词可见一二。

菩萨蛮·赤阑桥尽香街直鉴赏
此词上片写繁华都市花街柳卷之景，下片写冶游狎妓之人品行之丑恶、神态之骄横，状景写人，前后相合，寓讽其中，委婉含蓄，艺术上颇有特色。
词的上片写十里长街繁华绮丽的外景，且于写景中寓有情意，词境迷离悄恍：朱红栏干的桥梁横跨水面，桥的尽头是一条笔直的长街；街的两旁，嫩柳繁茂，柔条披拂，微风中轻轻地摇摆着。桥曰“赤阑”，暗示桥的华美；街曰“香”，更耐人寻味；而且它是笔直的，暗示街道繁华。柳可“笼街”，足见柳多。这柳又既“细”且“娇”，显示出她那婀娜多姿，柔条动人的神态。难怪李庚说陈克“诗多情致，词尤工”（《词跋》），只此开头两句，就已情致绵绵了。不仅把柳的姿态“形容曲尽”；而这既“香”且“直”又紧挨着河桥的“街”，更婉转多姿。
第三句应首句的“香街直”，写这长街果然与众不同，它的楼房建筑，金碧辉煌，高大伟岸，直上青空。“金碧”色浓，“青空”色淡，用一“上”字把它们联系起来，一片青淡高远的背景衬托下，“金碧”更光辉耀眼。“花晴帘影红”，由上句楼房的巍峨矗立，而到那一户户的具体人家。这些人家也与众不同，不仅有花，而且花色鲜艳，花光明媚，花气袭人。一个“晴”字把花的艳丽芬芳，和其爽心悦目的视觉美，充分表露出来。接着，词人又用“帘影红”来作渲染。这五个字意境完整，帘影的红，是由于“花晴”，而若无“帘影红”的映衬，也就减少了“晴”的份量，所以这里它们是互为表里的。这一来，花红，帘红，帘影红，连晴朗的天气，也都成了红彤彤的。词人很善于烘托气氛，渲染环境，他的词格调高远，情思闲雅，而终归于淳厚。所谓“一语之艳，令人魂绝”（王世贞语），但这“艳”，绝不如温词的“香而软”，而是更具意趣。
过片两句黄衫，隋唐时贵族少年所穿的黄色华贵服装。《新唐书·礼乐志》十二：唐明皇“以乐工少年姿秀者十数人，衣黄衫，文玉带”。后用黄衫指衣饰华丽姿容秀美的少年公子。这里身着黄衫的贵公子，骑着白马，不是去游春，却是“日日青楼下”去寻找自己的快乐。以“飞”字联系“黄衫、白马”，缴足了人的奔驰之状。而“日日”二字又见人的奔驰之频。
下片第三句是对上两句的补充。这些贵公子花天酒地一番之后，醉眼惺忪，骑高高的白马上，横冲直撞，旁若无人。十里长街，花香柳媚，时当午刻，正是繁华热闹的时候。说“不逢人”，是从反面着笔，说明这公子哥目中无人，一切都不在乎。
结句写一阵马蹄声沙沙踏过去后，“黄衫飞白马”的影子远去了，马蹄掀起的尘土仍腾起空中。这时，正是中午，花开正红，随着尘土，也传来阵阵花香。“香”与“尘”是给人以相反感触的事物，但此刻，它们却夹杂一起。“午香”与“暗尘”之间，用了一个“吹”字。“暗尘”不会送来“午香”，只有风可送来花香，说“吹”有“暗尘”扬起的意思。
这首词的结构于写景中寓有深意。李白《古风》之二十四“大车扬飞尘，亭午暗阡陌”，写豪贵人物招摇过市的情状，只以“扬尘”一事点出，此词结句拟之，而作者寓意，则藏而不露，更有“似尽而不尽”之妙。
