译文
楚人自来喜爱登高，抒发心中的烦闷。我才到这里，也觉得忧愁难忍。
莽莽苍苍的树木，终日不散的烟云，使三峡显得阴霾沉沉。开阔的江面，明月高悬，不时传来猿猴的悲鸣。
远离故乡，又逢岁暮年关，怎不叫人心惊。要想安慰孤独的灵魂，最好还是开怀痛饮。
闲来信步漫游，遇见山水佳丽，不妨高声长吟。如果不是贬官外放，又怎么能饱览各地的奇山异景。
注释
楚人：楚国人。楚，战国时的大国，为七雄之一，据有今湘、鄂、皖、江、浙诸省之域。登临：登山临水，谓游览自然胜景。
暂到：刚到，乍到。暂，始、初。愁肠已九回：犹“九回肠”。形容回环往复的忧愁。回肠，极言内心忧虑不安。
万树苍烟：青色的烟雾笼罩着茂密的树林。万，极言其多。苍烟：青烟。
满川明月：明月的清辉朗照着平旷的原野。川，平野、平地。
殊乡：犹“殊方”，异域，他乡。残岁：残年，岁暮，指一年将尽的时候。
慰客：犹“迁客”。慰，郁闷。把酒杯：把盏，把酒，端着酒杯。
吟咏：这里指作诗。后因用为歌咏或作诗的意思。
迁谪：被贬谪到外地。

黄溪夜泊鉴赏
这首诗是欧阳修七律中的佳作。诗中不仅描写了三峡苍暗、明月满川的景象，揭示出峡川月夜的苍茫、辽阔、凄清之美；而且借助景物描写，抒发了作者极为复杂的思想感受。这里，既有无辜被贬的深沉感慨，又有思乡怀归的惆怅之情。而在无可奈何的情况下，又自我解嘲，故作旷达。
“楚人自古登临恨，暂到愁肠已九回”写因贬谪之恨，而源溯到屈原，借以自喻而自慰，可终不能抑制这种生活的愁怨。“万树苍烟三峡暗，满川明月一猿哀”写有如《秋色赋》，何其凄然。“殊乡况复惊残岁，慰客偏宜把酒杯”写客居异乡，苦恨经年，只有借酒消愁。最后两句在自叹自解中，也含有不可言状之凄苦。
这首诗突出的特点是，气象阔大，意绪苍凉。诗中无论写景，还是叙事，愁苦意绪笼罩全诗。其中“万树”一联，诗人从大处落墨，描绘出峡川从黄昏到静夜的景象。在这幅画面上，众多的景物如高山、丛林、溪水和明月，本已把画面装饰得既壮美又幽深，再加上“猿哀”一笔，显得更加凄怅苍凉。气象宏阔，以景逆情，进一步渲染作者谪居他乡的愁苦心情。
诗的前六句表现的是登山临水，感慨万千，各种情怀纠结于心，愁绪层层盘结，句句借景抒情，表达了内心被贬的良多沉痛：登山临水之怅恨，九回盘桓之愁肠。苍烟萦绕之万树，幽暗陡峭之峡谷，满川挥洒之明月，凄苦哀婉之猿啼。由于满怀的愁情，山水明月、烟草树木都为之黯然失色。各种愁怨喷薄而楚，又何况临近年关，而自己在他乡羁旅，只能强颜作欢，借酒浇愁，以为暂时的宽慰。在悲极之中，诗人笔锋一转，不再作那儿女情长的伤心之语，而是将悲情化为临风吟咏，“不因迁谪岂能来”，似乎为今日能饱览楚地奇异谲诡的风光而自豪。情绪顿然一转，于解嘲中放达，字里行间透出一股旷达豪迈之气。后来，苏轼受欧阳修的影响，也结合自己的多舛经历，在诗歌中将这张苦极自嘲、愈见旷达的宋调发展到了极致。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
