译文
悬崖峭壁连接着的是崆峒，簇聚的山峰上堆着翠微。
鸟声婉转值得驻马，树色悦目可以忘机。
怪石嶙峋时时侵占道路，女萝飘荡恰好拂拭襟衣。
道路漫长愁于作客，上了年纪更是思归。
幸喜能看到岩峦胜景，还叹息什么意绪相违。
山路是那么无穷无尽，谁与我一同赏玩芳菲。
注释
彭州：属剑南道，故治在今四川彭县。
崆（kōng）峒（tóng）：大山名，在四川平武西，山谷深险，与甘肃平凉的崆峒山相似，故名。
攒（cuán）峰：密集、簇拥的山峰。翠微：山气呈青绿色，故日翠微。
忘机：指去除得失功利之心。
轻萝：一名松萝，地衣类植物，生深山中，呈丝状，常自树梢悬垂。拂：拭，轻轻擦过。
长：指离家远。作客：客居他乡。
岩峦胜：山景美好。岩，高峻的山。峦（luán），小而锐的山。
宁（nìng）：岂可，岂能。嗟（jiē）：叹息。意绪违：指年老而仕宦边远地区，不合自己的意愿。
谁与：与谁。芳菲：本谓花草的芳香，后亦指称花草。

赴彭州山行之作创作背景
这首五言诗当作于唐肃宗乾元二年（759年）夏，时年五十九岁的高适自长安入蜀出任彭州刺史途中。诗人五月赴任，从长安赴彭州一路上均系大山，绵延不绝，此诗即为山行纪实之作。而唐代仕宦有重朝官轻外官的传统，因此诗人出任外官带有遭遇迁谪的意味，赴任路上的心情自然不会太好，故有“路长愁作客，年老更思归”之叹，作下此诗以抒发思乡之情。

赴彭州山行之作鉴赏
一至四句紧扣“山行”而展开：写彭州界山脉连亘起伏，群峰如聚，层峦叠翠，勾画出西南山景雄奇秀丽之特点，诗人茕茕独行，一路山川美景美不胜收，驰荡着诗人的心魄。峭壁峻岩，峥嵘森布，其上苍松翠柏，盘根错节，如山鬼魑魈，张牙舞爪；千峰攒聚，万壑深幽，山岚轻袅，风烟恬淡。天空中飞鸟百啭千回放着歌喉，其声若仙乐，嘹亮清越，响遏行云，唱破了山林的幽寂，也唱醉了诗人。原始物态的狰狞粗朴、幽森浑莽，又和谐浑圆、劲美清丽的绝胜风光，直使人心旷神怡，宠辱皆忘，诗人不禁驻足停马，留连赏玩，赞叹不绝。
五至八句则是在前面整体描绘之基础上，攫取两幅近景写“山行”之难：怪石嶙峋，壁立于旁，偶有突兀之角伸出路旁。轻萝蔓生，缠绕于山岩峭壁间，还时不时撩人衣裳。诗笔生动如在目前。但因面临“年老”“路长”之困难又不免顿生悲愁。然诗人“思归”之愁瞬间即逝，代之以对“岩峦”胜境之欣赏。故虽与“意绪”有违，又有何值得嗟叹。自勉之意甚浓。但因“山行”未尽，愁绪终难完全排除，思乡情愁也难以遏止。
九至十二句写忧事萦怀，心绪怏怏，但置于一边，且去饱览山川锦绣，绝胜烟景，何必郁郁寡欢，使山川之玲珑秀色无人赏玩。山行逶迤，长路漫漫，无限芳菲争相逞妍供媚，吟赏不尽，无人能怀清赏之雅兴，忘机之真心，与我同游共赏，言无人共“玩芳菲”，话虽委婉，而失意甚明。
全诗以白描手法描摹了入蜀途中的见闻，继而抒发跋涉旅途之上的羁旅之思与怀乡之情，写景远近结合，声色交错，抒情多所转折起伏，以凸显诗人内心情感之曲折变化，表现了诗人独自赶路时寂寞凄凉的游子心境。
