译文
梅子味道很酸，吃过之后，余酸还残留在牙齿之间；芭蕉初长，而绿阴映衬到纱窗上。春去夏来，日长人倦，午睡后起来，情绪无聊，闲着无事观看儿童戏捉空中飘飞的柳絮。
注释
梅子：一种味道极酸的果实。软齿牙：一作溅齿牙，指梅子的酸味渗透牙齿。
芭蕉分绿：芭蕉的绿色映照在纱窗上。与窗纱：《四部备要》本《诚斋集》作“上窗纱”，此据《杨万里选集》。与，给予的意思。
无情思：没有情绪，指无所适从，不知做什么好。思，意，情绪。
捉柳花：戏捉空中飞舞的柳絮。柳花，即柳絮。

闲居初夏午睡起·其一鉴赏
这首诗写芭蕉分绿，柳花戏舞，诗人情怀也同有景物一样清新闲适，童趣横生。儿童捉柳花，柳花似也有了无限童心，在风中与孩童们捉迷藏。不时有笑声漾起，诗人该是从睡梦中被它叫醒的。首二句点明初夏季节，后二句表明夏日昼长，百无聊赖之意。这首诗选用了梅子、芭蕉、柳花等物象来表现初夏这一时令特点。诗人闲居乡村，初夏午睡后，悠闲地看着儿童扑捉戏玩空中飘飞的柳絮，心情舒畅。诗中用“软”字，表现出他的闲散的意态；“分”字也很传神，意蕴深厚而不粘滞；尤其是“闲”字，不仅淋漓尽致地把诗人心中那份恬静闲适和对乡村生活的喜爱之情表现出来，而且非常巧妙地呼应了诗题。
