不道新知乐，只言行路远。
江南曲鉴赏
这是一首清丽委婉的诗。前两句仅凭“采苹”即可想见这是一位秀丽的江南女子，在落日余晖的江南采着白苹。其中“日落”另有版本为“日暖”。三、四句写女子遇到洞庭归客，而他曾在潇湘遇到了“故人”——即女子的丈夫。后四句是对答。女子问归客，她的丈夫为何不回家。女子以春花自比，一个“复”字写出了与丈夫久别的怅惘，“应”字写出青春虽然未逝，女子却已先开始忧愁。后两句是归客宽慰女子，也许他早已知道丈夫有了新欢，却故意隐瞒说行路太远，更也许只是女子自己的猜测而已。
全诗简洁流畅，写出思妇对丈夫的期盼，更以细微心理的刻画，写出她珍惜生命，爱惜青春不愿虚度而盼望家庭美满的心情。

柳恽，字文畅，生于宋泰始元年(465年)，卒于梁天监十六年(517年)。祖籍河东解州（今山西运城），南朝梁著名诗人、音乐家、棋手。梁天监元年(502午)萧衍建立梁朝，柳恽为侍中，与仆射，著名史学家沈约等共同定新律。以后在朝中，历任散骑常侍、左民尚书，持节、都督、仁武将军、平越中郎将、广州（今广东广州）刺史。又“征为秘书监、领左军将军”。曾两次出任吴兴（今浙江吴兴县)太守，“为政清静，人吏怀之。梁天监十六年 (517年）卒，享年53岁。赠侍中，中护军。
