清平乐·赠陈参议师文侍儿鉴赏
作为辛派词人的代表之一，刘克庄的词一向以豪放见长。但词人也并非不会婉约，而是不欲而已。偶为婉约之词，情意款款，自然又是一首佳作。比如 这首《清平乐》，置于婉约词中，几不可辨识，以为又是哪一位多情妙手的快意所为。
南宋时期上流社会有蓄家姬的风气。这首词所描写的就是一个以歌舞佐酒的家姬。一开始一束素绢比舞姬的纤腰，抓住了作为舞姬最重要的因素。由此
开始，上半阕四句，句句使用夸张。刘勰《文心雕龙·夸饰》说夸张“可以发蕴而飞滞，披瞽而骇聋”。夸张手法在突出事物的特点方面，刻画得更有力。此外，这四句中有三处典故：“宫腰束素”用宋玉《登徒子好色赋》中“腰如束素”，原句是描写一个据宋玉自己说是天底下最美丽的女子的。“好筑避风台护取”用赵飞燕的故事，据说赵飞燕体质轻盈，汉成帝恐其飘翥，为制七宝避风台。“惊鸿飞去”用曹植《洛神赋》里写洛神的句子“翩若惊鸿”。这三个成句全是写最美的女子的，用这些典故来写舞姬，自然上半阕的真正含义，就不只是写其的体态轻盈了。
“一团香玉温柔，笑颦俱有风流”两句在继续作形态方面描绘的同时，开始着力烘托舞姬的精神风韵，上下两片之间在这里得到了自然地过渡。同时，这两句对舞女风韵正面、概括的描写，也给结尾两句作了最好的铺垫。“贪与萧郎眉语，不知舞错《伊州》”（萧郎，泛指为女子所爱恋的男子。《伊州》，舞曲名）两句，《词旨》推为“警句”，好在哪里？首先，“萧郎”在词中即指作者自己，亦或他人，彼此眉目传情，销魂荡魄之际，舞姬竟然舞错了《伊州》曲，其情其景，焕然生动，如在目前。其次，词的前面部分都是对舞姬的客观描写，到此作者才把自己融入其中。因为作者主观情感的融注，也就更加曼妙迷人了。
刘克庄词多写人民疾苦和对祖国命运的关注，多有慷慨大江东去的气概，很少剪红刻翠之辞。因此，不少评论家以为克庄词缺少含蓄微婉的力量。这阕词写粉黛，叙歌舞，读来虽不乏明快之感，但情绪缠绵，措词轻艳，结尾处尤有无穷余意，当可代表刘克庄词风的另一个侧面。
