译文
楚女就要回南方去，道别的南浦飘着蒙蒙朝雨。朝雨中粉红的荷花，润透了离愁别意；小船缓缓地摇进花丛，摇荡着我不安的心绪。西风扬起的波澜，隔开了，我和你。
注释
荷叶杯：唐教坊曲名，后用为词牌名。《金奁集》入“南吕宫”。分单调、双调两体。此词为单调小令，二十三字，四仄韵二平韵。
楚女：楚地之女，泛指南国女子。南浦：泛指送别之地。浦，水边，岸边。
湿愁红：红指荷花，即雨湿带愁的荷花。红，一作“云”。
摇漾：摇荡，形容船在水中划行的样子。漾，一作“样”。
隔西风：小船已去远，隔风相望，所以说“隔西风”。

荷叶杯·楚女欲归南浦创作背景
此词写雨中送楚女驾舟晨归。丁寿田、丁亦飞《唐五代四大名家词》甲篇云：“此细雨中送别美人之词也。”然其送别对象以及创作时间均未得确证。

荷叶杯·楚女欲归南浦鉴赏
这首词写采莲的楚女欲归南浦与风吹波起、小船渐行渐远的情景，表现了一种淡淡的哀愁，这哀愁是楚女驾舟归去的一霎那所引起的，是岸上送者的哀愁，也是楚女的哀愁，只是送者并未出场，却从行者眼里写出。
首起二句“楚女欲归南浦，朝雨”点明人物、情事、地点、环境。紧接着“湿愁红”句，用雨湿花红烘托气氛。花红无所谓愁与不愁，但在朝雨归去的离人眼里，却带上了愁的轻纱。“小船摇漾入花里”写船行，“摇漾”二字描摹出小船轻悠地荡漾在花丛中的情态。“波起”写船行荡起层层涟漪。这里描述小船驶入花丛的情景，概括地写出了江南水乡充满诗意的美景，描绘出一种极美的境界。雨湿花红，风吹浪起，如此离别的环境气氛，愁意自在其中。
结尾“隔西风”三字，语言简洁，却深入地写出了送别女子的心情：西风吹起，碧波荡漾，人儿远去，无影无踪，倩影留在眼前，哀愁充满心田。其中一“隔”字，以硬笔写感情，给人以刚硬之感，表现出一种被强行拆散的感受。“西风”则是一种萧瑟的意象，与“朝雨”交加，更添凄凉，透露出送者与被送者的苦楚哀伤。
此词篇幅虽然短小，却能以少许断续的线条，绘成一幅饶有情趣的人物小景。一个“愁”字，一个“隔”字，写楚女悠悠离愁颇为宛转含蓄。全词“曲调节拍短促，而韵律转换频数，形式与五、七言诗大异其趣，令人一新耳目”（胡国瑞《论温庭筠词的艺术风格》）。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
