译文
闲望湖上，雨丝凄凄迷迷。那长堤花桥，远远地隐入烟浦雾里。美人相思生愁怨，愁思在翠眉间凝聚。终日盼着爱人归来，梦里还听那雨中晚潮阵阵，似乎在传递他的消息。
浪子的归舟遥遥万千里，春光却又将逝去。听莺语声声，唱不尽断肠的心曲。若耶溪啊相思的溪，溪水西岸那洗纱女，天天看溪水空流，日日在柳堤寻觅，总不见郎君归来的踪迹。
注释
萧萧：或写作“潇潇”，形容刮风下雨的状态。
烟浦：云烟笼罩的水滨。
谢娘：此指游春女。翠蛾：翠眉。蛾：一作“娥”。
终朝：一整天。
晚：一作“晓”。
荡子：古代女子称自己远行不归或流荡忘返的丈夫。归棹：归舟，以棹代船。
空肠断：一本作“肠空断”。
若耶溪：水名，今浙江绍兴市若耶山下，传说西施曾在此处浣纱。此借指思妇住所。

河传·湖上鉴赏
此词以湖上迷离雨景为背景，写荡子春晚不归、思妇惆怅之情。
上片一开始就指明地点，是在湖上；“闲望”是一篇之主。关于“闲望”的内容，预先并未说破，而是逐步透露。她极目远眺，但见春雨潇潇，烟浦花桥隐约可见，那儿曾是两人游宴之处。如今远远望去，却是濛濛一片，什么都望不见，看不清，这些就是“闲望”时所见的景色。“翠蛾”句描绘思妇愁眉不展，相思难解，这是她“闲望”时所怀的愁情；这种愁情使她从早到晚心事重重，梦魂犹牵系于水上，盼行人客舟归来。一“迷”字很形象地描绘出这种心情。潮声本易使人联想起客舟和舟中之人，由潮及人，又直接勾起下片首句。
下片叙述思妇闺怨。荡子漂泊天涯，归棹杳无音讯，思妇在湖上望断云山，也盼不到归舟远客，这里方始点出“闲望”的用意所在。春意阑珊，莺语如簧，只令人愁肠欲断，此是念及客舟去远时的失望之情。“若耶溪”本是西施浣纱之处，用来借指思妇住所；那儿长堤垂柳，依依拂水，昔日郎骑马来访，如今柳色依旧，伫立长堤，却听不到旧侣重来的马嘶之声。虽然内容已从湖上转到柳堤，但仍然归结到荡子迟迟未回。而且又与上面的“闲望”相互关联。湖、堤两处都无踪影，其失望为何如。
此词情致缠绵，含意婉转，极尽低佪留连之致，思妇的身份、所处的环境以及盼望之心、失望之情，融合在景物描绘之中，通过逐步透露，间接道出，亦即以“含蓄”、“暗示”的方式来反映。
在音律方面，此词也很有特色，可以说促节繁音，变化多端，与内容起伏很为一致，句法也随之长短参差不齐，有二、三、四、五、七字句，错杂用之，并且换韵频繁，曲折尽情，显得结构复杂而富于变化，想来演奏时悲管清瑟，抑扬婉转，必能丝丝入扣地表达出思妇内心的无限哀怨。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
