译文
山中下雨我便冒雨去喝酒，傍晚天气晴好我便和衣而睡。不知道报时的钟鼓几时响起，酣睡梦中，我如蝴蝶一样欢乐畅快。
人老才尽，还无法实现归隐的志向。我经营家产惹得人们笑话，他们不知道我只想在湖边无泥的地方悠闲散步而已。
注释
和衣：睡不解衣。
梦里栩然蝴蝶：庄周《齐物论》中说，从前庄周梦见自己变成了翩翩飞舞的蝴蝶，遨游各处悠游自在，忘记了自己是庄周。忽然醒过来，觉得自己是庄周。这时，他自己都迷糊了，是庄周做梦化为蝴蝶呢？还是蝴蝶做梦化为庄周呢？栩然：是“栩栩然”的省文（见《齐物论》），相当于“翩翩然”，形容蝴蝶飞舞的样子。
老去才都尽：来源于杜甫《寄彭州高三十五使君适虢（guó）州岑二十七长史参三十韵》：“老去才难尽，秋来兴甚长。”此处反其意而用之。
归来计未成：来源于郑谷《兴州江馆》：“向蜀还秦计未成，寒蛩（qióng）一夜绕床鸣。”
求田问舍：指购买田地和房屋。据《三国志·魏书·陈登传》载，刘备曾对许汜（sì）“求田问舍”表示极度鄙视。

南歌子·再用前韵创作背景
宋仁宗嘉祐八年（1063年）二月，在凤翔通判任的苏轼赴长安（今西安），往岐山，过宝鸡，重游终南山，游途中遇到晴雨变化，苏轼由景生情写下该词。

上片写旅途中冒雨赶路的辛劳以及归来后歇宿的情景。词一开始，就描绘出苏轼带着酒意冒着山中阵雨匆匆赶路的形象。带酒冲山雨”，苏轼的劳苦以至于狼狈不言而喻（这同苏轼在黄州时期“一蓑烟雨任平生”的超脱不可同日而语）。接着便转到写归来后酣睡的情景。当他赶回凤翔城时，已是傍晚时分，天已放晴，苏轼似乎什么也顾不上，连衣服都没有脱，就躺在床上睡着了。这一觉睡得真香，连城里报晓的钟鼓声都没有听到。以上两句叙述，除了写出天气变化，表示人已归来（由“钟鼓”所示）之外，主要是从侧面表现出旅途的极度疲劳。苏轼还写到夜里或清晨（李商隐有“庄生晓梦迷蝴蝶”之句）做了一个梦。“梦里栩然蝴蝶，一身轻。”此句显然是用典，而不是梦境的实录。其用意可能有两点：一是表示行旅生活（虽然是短暂的）结束后的一身轻松，二是表示自己具有源于庄周的淡泊功名的意识，因为庄周梦中化为蝴蝶，物我不分，是意味着超然物外的。
下片着重抒写归来后的牢骚情绪以及进退两难的矛盾心情。“老去才都尽，归来计未成”。这两句反用或借用前人诗意，集中抒发了内心的不平和牢骚。其所以如此，是因为宋仁宗嘉祐八年正月宋选罢凤翔府任，陈希亮来代，陈氏驭下严肃，不假人辞色，而苏轼年轻气盛，每与之争议，胸中不平，时或流露于笔端。事实上，苏轼当时28岁，何谈“老去”。这大概缘于宋人的一种文化心态，喜欢称“老”。苏轼同时创作的《题宝鸡县斯飞阁》诗中的“谁使爱官轻去国，此身无计老渔樵”，与此意正同。接着笔锋一转，“求田问舍笑豪英”。“求田问舍”，这一典故用来比喻辞官归隐。“笑豪英”，是说为英雄豪杰所耻笑，因为退隐等于放弃苏轼自己早年立下的报国的壮志。这句写出了苏轼进退两难的心情，而后苏轼在诗词中反复抒写这种情绪，表现了苏轼对仕途和人生的一种文化思考，凤翔之作仅仅是初露端倪。“自爱湖边沙路，免泥行”。是因为凤翔有东湖的缘故，这句是承上“归来”二字而言，又与开头写马在雨水泥泞中艰难跋涉的情景相呼应，表现出苏轼此次行役归来后轻松、欣慰的心情。
全词，先描写苏轼旅途的生活情景，再由景入情抒发感慨，反映了苏轼摆脱了仕宦名利、红尘俗务的束缚，以及旷达潇散淡然的人生情怀。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
