译文
老来惜花之心虽已减，爱梅还绕江村去探寻。玉溪梅花一枝先报春。毫无花儿柔媚娇艳的姿态，洁白雅淡全然是雪精神。
欣赏青山秀色已嫌多余，只为梅花写下清新词句。竹林下流水带走水上云。酒醉中全然记不得，回家路上月出天黄昏。
注释
临江仙：词牌名，原唐教坊曲，双调五十八字，上下片各三平韵。
老去：谓人渐趋衰老。心已懒：情意已减退。
一枝先破：春天梅花先开。一枝，指梅花。破，绽开，开放。玉溪：水名，即江西信江，信江在玉山县境叫玉溪。
花态度：谓花的柔媚之态。态度，姿态。
雪精神：如雪一样高洁的精神。
剩向：尽向。餐秀色：秀色可餐，极赞妇女容色之美，也可用以形容山川秀丽，此取后义。
渠：他（方言），此即指梅。著句清新：写清新的词句。
浑：简直，全。

临江仙·探梅创作背景
神宗淳熙九年（1182）至光宗绍熙三年（1192），稼轩落职闲居，在江西上绕北灵山下的带湖十易寒暑。据邓广铭《稼轩词编年笺注》，这首《临江仙》即作于此时。

临江仙·探梅鉴赏
这首词题旨在次句“爱梅”二字。故全篇将人与梅层层夹写，写出梅之幽姿逸韵，及词人对梅花的钟情留连，也就展示了作者的情趣和人格。
起句：“老去惜花心已懒”，用笔逆入，以扫为生。次句“爱梅犹绕江村”，“犹”字与“已”字相对，突出梅花与众卉之不同。年齿老大，无意赏花，乃人情之常，然而不能忘情者，唯梅而已。陆游咏梅词云“幽姿不入少年场”，把少年繁华与烂漫花事并提，可见烈士暮年，偏赏梅花，有同嗜焉。下三句写所见梅花。“一枝先破玉溪春”，言眼前梅花一枝斜出，打破了春色闭锁的局面，透露了春之消息。“玉溪”，写出溪水清澈，有碧玉之色，水流垮琮，亦有溅玉之声。“更无”两句，仍以梅花与一般花卉对比来写。众花开时，姹紫嫣红，千娇百媚，招蜂引蝶。所谓“花态度”，乃娇媚俗艳之品。自来审美鉴赏中，有冰清玉洁、骨冷神清、风清骨峻等语，所谓“雪精神”，即包含清、冷、峻、洁多种审美因素。“花态度”与“雪精神”之别，实为雅俗之辨，志士与庸人之分。
上片写梅之高洁可爱，下片写词人对梅花的钟情留连。过片承“爱梅犹绕江村”句，谓寻梅直至溪山深处。“胜向空山餐秀色”，隐用前人诗句。晋陆机《日出东南隅行》诗：“鲜肤一向润，秀色若可餐。”杜甫《佳人》诗：“绝代有佳人，幽居在空谷。”此句是说梅花比佳人秀色更可爱。这两句意谓：我最爱到这山水幽静处，饱餐梅之秀色，为它写下新诗佳句，沉吟细品，觉沆瀣生牙颊间。“竹根流水带溪云”，是写梅之周围景物，也是词人醉卧之境。宋人咏梅，往往以水云萦拂，以幽篁相伴，其他俗艳之物，皆不得滥入。结尾两句，见词人之忘情。醉来与梅花晤对，惬意舒心，留连忘返。卧枕竹根，仰观流云，耳边溪水溅溅，梅花清香沁人，人间是非，一时净尽。可以说，这既是一首咏梅词，也是一首记游词。词人乘兴而来，踏月而归，一日清赏，可抵十年尘梦。而空山寒梅，得此人相对，亦可免寂寞矣。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
