译文
那时我头插金钗，面带微红的羞赧，在花丛中与你短暂相见。你知道我对你的情意，我知道你对我的爱怜，上苍可以作证。
香已燃成灰烬，红烛只剩下蜡泪一滩，恰似你我二人心境。枕上的清泪涟涟，我感受着锦衾的清冷，难耐更漏声声的敲打。
注释
金雀钗：华贵的首饰。白居易《长恨歌》：“花钿委地无人收，翠翘金雀玉搔头。”又作金爵钗。曹植《美女篇》：“头上金爵钗，腰佩翠琅玕。”
里：雪本作“裏”，误。时：鄂本作“如”，误。
“知我意”二句：上句主语是君，下句主语是我。怜：爱。
香作穗：谓香烧成了灰烬，像穗一样坠落下来。此处形容男子心冷如香灰。
山枕腻：谓枕头为泪水所污。腻：指泪污。

更漏子·金雀钗鉴赏
这阕词写的是梦醒之后的感觉和追忆，和另一首《更漏子·柳丝长》的手法近似又不似。近似的是都是在最后一句点明是梦。那里“梦长”是明说，而这里“觉来”则是暗示。但都是从梦中醒来的这一点则是无疑的。所不同的是：《更漏子·柳丝长》没有写梦境，只写梦醒后的苦苦难眠；而这一首却是专写梦境，而把醒时的苦况则轻轻一笔带过，章法极具变化。
此词以女子的身分和口吻描写其心理和感情，十分细致地表现了女子对男方的一往情深，以及对爱情的始终不渝。
词的上片描写女子与男方的花里相见。开头三句，描写女子整妆而往，在花丛之中与自己的情人相见。“暂时”两字，透露出此种相见乃私相约会，故只能一时而不能长久。
还有一种说法认为，“金雀钗，红粉面”，应当是指梦中于“花里暂时相见”的人，不像是说自己。因为人不好自己夸自己是“红粉面”的。所以诗人紧接着用醒时的口吻说：“花里暂时相见”。“暂时”是过后的衡量，是追叙的回忆，也是对于梦的一番惆怅。他们在花里暂时的、也就是匆匆的又见了一面了。这是自我安慰，因为聊胜于无；但也充满了惆怅，因为毕竟是梦。相见在梦中，而又匆匆地醒了，所以诗人要突出地点明“暂时”二字，以示惆怅。正因为写的是暂时在花中相见的一段情景，所以“金雀钗”、“红粉面”当是相见时见到的那人的模样。这种重复梦中的情景，正是在回味，在念念不忘。
上三句写梦中之景，下三句写梦中之情。“知我意，感君怜。”这里分明有一椿冤事在。怜，是包括爱与哀的意思。唯其爱，是以哀。这两者有连带关系。正因为人好而被冤，这才所以爱而哀。唯其知道爱而哀，所以词人才要说：“知我意。”是表示对对方“知我”“怜我”的感激，这是写情之深。“此情须问天”是对天盟誓，指天以明心的意思，这是写情之坚。由此可见，女子在会见时的感情是何等炽热强烈。
词的下片，描写女子对男方的执着的爱情。从时间上看，写的是“暂时相见”之后；从内容上看，则是对女子内心感情的进一步描写。“暂时相见”之后，女子回到了自己的房间。刚才花里相会时的情景，以及会见时燃烧在女子心中的爱情的火焰，不但没有消失、减弱，反而更加鲜明、强烈了。于是，女子将这内心的感情，化成了默默的誓言。“香作穗，蜡成泪”，是女子回房时看到的情景。香尽蜡灭，说明时已深夜。但更重要的是，这是一种见景生情，托物寄情手法的运用。在女子看来，这香作之穗，蜡成之泪，“还似两人心意”，是“两人心意”相合的心心相印的象征。“春蚕到死丝方尽，蜡炬成灰泪始干”，是李商隐的传世名句。它以谐音双关和形象的比喻，述说了对所爱者至死不渝的情思和无穷无尽的恨别，表明了自己的一往情深，爱之极至：若要不相思流泪，除非像蚕蜡一样，身死灰尽。词人此处的描写，或许是对李诗的化用。
值得注意的是，这里说得是“两人”面不是一人，是兼及男女双方的，其特点是，男方的心意不是由男一方自己说出，而是由女子代为说出的。这样写，当然是以女子亲身体验到男方的怜爱为基础的，但却更是以女子本身的感情为基础的。代男方言其心意，更可以见其自己的心意。
女子虽然知己之心，也知君之意，但毕竟只能“暂时相见”的现实，给她的心情罩上了一层阴影。“暂时”之外的时间是多数的，大量的，而在这些时间里是不能相见的，这不能不使女子感到阵阵愁思袭来。故结末三句，词人以枕腻衾寒，更残漏尽，夜不能寐，来写女子在“暂时相见”之后的孤独和寂寞，这是非常符合女子此时此地的心理状态的。也许，深夜难眠，孤寂难挨的女子，还在回忆着刚才“暂时相见”的情景；或者，正在想着下一次的“暂时相见”从这个角度说，此一结尾又是含蓄有味，余韵不尽的。
这阕词很为前人所称赞。它妙就妙在首先给人一个极美的意境，然后一下让人落于冷寂的现实，造成感情上的巨大落差。而在这巨大的落差之间，如瀑布一样的不是空的，不是一片漆黑，而是充满感情的芬芳，溅射出忠贞的奇姿异彩。是以给人以感情上的纯洁化，这在技术上较之从头说起，有着极大的震宕。其实，如果按词的内容来排列，恰好应当调过头来，把末句放在开头。更残、梦醒，一个人睡在冰冷的被子里，想到刚才居然还梦见了情人。她还是那样的漂亮，从服饰到颜色，然后想到为什么会有这样的梦，从而想到彼此之间的深情厚意。词人为了在写法上突破一般化，是很懂得蒙太奇的手法的，一下把主人公最美的情景推到读者的眼前，然后再夹以回叙。通过现实情与物的化入，最后才使人知道：啊，原来竟是一个梦！不由人不升起一缕惋惜之情而对于现实的理解。
由于温庭筠的词几乎是完全诉之于视觉，温庭筠只是加以组合，通过这画面的组合变化，使读者去理解诗人的创伤及思想。因此，这倒很合乎当代的电影语言。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
