译文
占卜好梦是个熊，吉兆是生男，释氏道君都说是神佛抱送。小儿志气横亘秋空，未满三日，气势能食牛。
洗儿钱，洗儿果，喜钱平分，宾客满座。多谢无功受赏，生儿之事如何依靠侬。
注释
减字木兰花：唐教坊曲，后用为词牌，简称《减兰》。《张子野词》入“林钟商”，《乐章集》入“仙吕调”。双调四十四字，与《木兰花》相比，前后片第一、三句各减三字，改为平仄韵互换格，每片两仄韵，两平韵。又有《偷声木兰花》，入“仙吕调”。
李公择：李常，字公择，建昌（今江西南城）人，时任湖州太守。吴兴在今浙江吴兴县，属湖州管辖。
维熊佳梦：此甩来指李公择得好梦生子。
释氏：佛。释迦牟尼为佛教创始人，后称佛姓释迦氏，简称释氏。老君，指老子，道家创始人，后世道教尊崇其为鼻祖。民间有生子为神佛抱送的说法，这里是沿用。
犀钱玉果：此指为洗儿钱、洗儿果。宋时育子满月的习俗。
利市：欢庆节日的喜钱，此指喜儿钱。
“多谢”二句：此用晋元帝生子故事。侬（nóng），江苏浙江方言称你为“侬”。

减字木兰花·维熊佳梦创作背景
熙宁七年（1074）九月，苏轼离开杭州赴密州任，与杨元素、张子野、陈令举等同至湖州，适逢湖州太守李公择生子，三日大宴宾客，此词当应人请求而作。

减字木兰花·维熊佳梦鉴赏
这首词是作者与老友应酬之作，有戏谑之意，但也能见出作者性格中开朗而诙谐的一面。
起首两句，化用杜甫《徐卿二子歌》中“徐卿二子生绝奇，感应吉梦相追随。孔子释氏亲抱送，并是天上麒麟儿”的诗句，但把杜诗“吉梦”字面的来历“维熊佳梦”四字，以“梦”字叶“送”字。这样原本烂熟的典故，却也锤炼得别有一番风味。三、四两句，以夸诞大言，善颂善祷。“气横秋”字面本于孔稚圭《北山移文》“霜气横秋”，结合杜甫《送韦十六评事充同谷郡防御判官》诗的“子虽躯干小，老气横九州”，而改用一“壮”字，切合小儿特点。第四句本出于《尸子》:“虎豹之驹，虽未成文，已有食牛之气”。但这里主要仍然是翻用杜甫《徐卿二子歌》中“小儿五岁气食牛，满堂宾客皆回头”的句子。上片四句，大多是从杜诗中借来，但一经作者熔铸，语言更觉矫健挺拔。
下片第一、二两句“犀钱玉果，利市平分沾四座”描写的是古时“三朝洗儿”的热闹场面。三朝洗儿，古时习俗，富有人家，一般都要大会宾客，作汤饼之宴。席上散发喜钱喜果，叫作“利市”。喜钱用之于汤饼宴上者俗称“洗儿钱”。据说唐明皇曾赐给杨贵妃洗儿钱，又见于唐王建的《宫词》，可见这个习俗，由来已久了。三、四两句才转入调笑戏谑。题下作者自注引秘阁《笑林》说:“晋元帝生子，宴百官，赐束帛，殷羡谢曰：”臣等无功受赏。‘帝曰:“此事岂容卿有功乎!’同舍每以为笑。”作者把这个笑话，隐括成为“多谢无功，此事如何着得侬”，把晋元帝、殷羡两人的对话变成自己的独白，把第二人称的“卿”字换成第一人称的“侬”（我）字，意思是多谢，多谢，我是无功受赏了，这件事情，怎么可以该着我有功呢？语言幽默风趣，谑而不虐，结果此语一出“举坐皆绝倒”，确实不是作者在自我吹擂。在这篇作品中，虽然没有什么思想内容可言，但如果把眼光放在另外一个角度，看作者语言吐属的典雅得体，看他隐括前人诗句的技巧，是那么娴熟，老练，再看文字中所洋溢的欢乐气氛和作者自身开朗而诙谐的性格，岂不是一种精神享受。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
