译文
不要去折荼蘼花，权且留住一分春色。还记得青梅如豆的时节，和你一起采摘。当时对着花的情景像在梦中。而今天醒着看风月，只恨牡丹花笑我头发已经白如雪。
榆荚树林，菖蒲的叶子。随着时间的变换，繁华又凋零。怎么能经得住风雨，怎么能禁得住杜鹃的啼鸣。花和柳树都已经老了，蜜蜂和蝴蝶还忙忙碌碌。也不是因为春天逝去了而有闲愁，而是因为离别。
注释
满江红：词牌名，又名“上江虹”“念良游”“伤春曲”。双调九十三字，前片四十七字，八句，四仄韵；后片四十六字，十句，五仄韵。用入声韵者居多。
郑厚卿：始末不详。查淳熙七年后至稼轩卒前，衡州守之郑姓者仅有郑如崈一人，为继刘清之之后任者。衡州：在今湖南省，以衡山而得名。
荼蘼（tú mí）：又名酴醾，夏日开花，花冠为重瓣，带黄白色，香气不足，但甚美丽，唐宋诗词多用之。
青梅：青的梅子。
少日：当时。
榆荚：榆树叶前所生之荚，色白成串，有如小钱，通称榆钱。
菖蒲（chāng pú）：水生植物，多年生草本，有香气。相传菖蒲不易开花，开则以为吉祥。
鹈鴂（tí jué）：这里指杜鹃。据说这种鸟鸣时，正是百花凋零时节。
是栖栖者：《论语·宪问》：“微生亩谓孔子曰：‘丘何为是栖栖者与？无乃为佞乎？”孔子曰：‘非敢为佞也，疾固也。’”是：如此，这般。栖栖：忙碌貌。

满江红·饯郑衡州厚卿席上再赋创作背景
据考证，该词作于淳熙十五年（1188），该年郑厚卿要到衡州去做知州，辛弃疾设宴饯别，先作了一首《水调歌头》，而意犹未尽，又作了这首《满江红》，所以题目中用“再赋”二字。

这是一首别开生面的饯行词。郑厚卿要到衡州赴任，作者设宴饯别，席间先作了一首《水调歌头》，然而意犹未尽，于是又作了这首《满江红》，所以题目中有“再赋”二字。
上片开头以劝阻的口气写道：“莫折荼蘼！”好像有谁要折。而且一折就会立刻产生严重的后果似的，起笔惊人。荼蘼是在春末开的花，故珍惜春天的人。往往发出“开到荼蘼花事了”的慨叹，作者一开口便劝人“莫折荼蘼”，其目的正是要“留住”最后“一分春色”。企图以“莫折荼蘼”留住“春色”，自然是痴心妄想。然而心愈痴情愈真，也愈具有感人肺腑的艺术魅力。这一句未明写送人，实则点出送人的季节已是暮春，接着又以“还记得”领起，追溯“青梅如豆，共伊同摘”的往事。“青梅如豆”乃是“春半”之时的景物。再写“看花”，以“少日”的“醉梦”，对比“而今”的“醒眼”。“而今”以“醒眼”看花，花却“笑我头如雪”，让人可“恨”。
下片写物换星移，“榆荚阵，菖蒲叶。时节换，繁华歇”。“花”与“柳”也都“老”了，自然不再“笑我”，但不用说“我”也更加老了，那又该“恨”谁，“算怎禁风雨，怎禁鹈鸠！”在同摘青梅的往事之后，是榆钱纷落、菖蒲吐叶，时节不断变换，繁华都歇，只剩下几朵“荼蘼”的今时！即使“莫折”，但风雨阵阵，鹈鸠声声，那“一分春色”也是留不住的。“鹈鸠”在初夏鸣。鹈鸠一叫，说明春天已经归去，百花的芬芳也就停止了。因此这种鸟在诗词中就常被用来表现岁月蹉跎、年华虚度、众芳衰歇、青春迟暮的悲哀。作者在这里于“时节换。繁华歇”之后继之以“算怎禁风雨，怎禁鹈鸠！”表现了对那仅存的“一分春色”的无限担忧。在章法上，与开头遥相呼应。
“老冉冉兮花共柳，是栖栖者蜂和蝶”两句，是工对，命意新警。“花”败“柳”老，“蜂”与“蝶”还忙忙碌碌，不肯安闲，有什么用处呢？春秋末期，孔丘为兴复周室奔走忙碌，有个叫微生亩的很不理解，问道：“丘何为是栖栖者与？”作者在这里把描述孔子的词儿用到“蜂”“蝶”上，是寓有深意的。
上述描写都没有涉及饯别，到了结尾时，作者突然笔锋一转，写了“也不因春去有闲愁，因离别”即戛然而止，给读者留下一系列的悬念和疑问。
全词句句惊心动魄，其奥秘在于句句意兼比兴。例如“莫折荼蘼，且留取、一分春色”，写得是如此郑重，如此情深意切，令人想到除它本身的意义外，必另有所指。其他如“醒眼看风月”、“怎禁风雨，怎禁鹈鸩”以及“是栖栖者蜂和蝶”等等，也都是这样的。随着“时节换，繁华歇”，人的头发也已似雪一样的白。洋溢在字里行间的似海深愁，分明是由“春去”引起的，却偏偏说与“春去”无关；都只是“因离别”，却又偏偏在“愁”前着一“闲”字，显得无关紧要。这就不能不发人深省。联系作者生平，他生于乱世，力主抗金，由于投降派把持朝政，遭到百般打击。这首词把“春去”与“离别”绾合起来，触景生情，比兴并用，国家的现状与前途，个人的希望与失望，俱见于言外。“闲愁”云云，实际是说此“愁”无人理解，尽管“愁”也是徒然。愤激之情，出以平淡，却内涵深广，远远超出了送别的范围。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
