龚茂良（1121-1178），字实之。莆田龚屯人。后迁居城关义井街和美巷。宋绍兴八年（1138）登进士第。初授南安县主簿、邵武司法。又调泉州观察推官。以廉勤称，赈济灾民，为民称颂。宋淳熙元年（1174）拜参知政事，叶衡罢相，茂良以首参代行宰相职。因其主抗金，对劾奸赈灾尤力。与蔡襄、陈俊卿、方信孺称为“莆田四贤”。
