《烈女操》鉴赏
原文
梧桐相待老，鸳鸯会双死。
贞女贵殉夫，舍生亦如此。
波澜誓不起，妾心古井水。(古井水一作：井中水)
赏析
这是一首颂扬贞妇烈女的诗。此诗以男子之心愿，写烈女之情志，可歌可泣。梧桐树相依持老，鸳鸯鸟同生共死。旧世贞烈女，夫死而终生不嫁，夫死而以身相殉。守节以表从一之志，殉节以明坚贞之心。结句“波澜誓不起，妾心古井水”，一片贞心，下语坚决，精警异常。成语“心如古井”源自于此。刘禹锡《竹枝词》名句：“长恨人心不如水，等闲平地起波澜。”从此翻出。烈女节义肝肠，坚贞不渝，固可针砭浮靡；然苛苦迂执，以一身青春配殉，不由刿目怵心，读之令人生怜。据考，当时对女子贞操并不看重。诗人或许另有寄托，籍烈女之吟，抒志洁行廉、孤高耿介之士人气节。

孟郊，(751～814)，唐代诗人。字东野。汉族，湖州武康（今浙江德清）人，祖籍平昌（今山东临邑东北），先世居洛阳（今属河南）。唐代著名诗人。现存诗歌500多首，以短篇的五言古诗最多，代表作有《游子吟》。有“诗囚”之称，又与贾岛齐名，人称“郊寒岛瘦”。元和九年，在阌乡(今河南灵宝)因病去世。张籍私谥为贞曜先生。
