译文
月光映照着清幽的树林池塘，凉爽的风里夹杂着欢声笑语。
弯下腰窥看青绿明净的池水，在幽香之中稍稍伫立一会儿。
拉上小孩子寻找新开的菊花，搀扶着老人在野外泛舟游玩。
我久久地流连不已，这已是一年的末尾，让人愈发珍惜流逝的光阴啊。

岁晚鉴赏
“岁晚”原本指时节。立春为二十四节气之首，但这个节气有时候出现在农历“年初”，有时候又出现在农历“上一年年末”，凡后一种情况，即称作“岁晚”（岁晚，即“年末”），民间亦称作“内春”。“岁晚”，在这里是指农历九月。此时，秋水澄碧，菊花正开，丝毫不比春景逊色。并且由于时近岁暮，“此景过后更无景”，因而比春景更令人爱惜。王安石以时节（“岁晚”）而不是以景为题，正是为了突出这种“岁晚惜流光”的感情。“月映林塘淡”，可见不是朦胧新月，至少是半月。明月与清波相映，明朗动人，这就为“坐野航”作了伏笔。而塘畔菊花，藏于枝叶之中，虽有月照，依然黝暗，这就解释了为什么必须去“寻”。“风含笑语凉”，着一“含”字，可知笑语在风中缓缓荡漾，那么，这风就是微风了。正因有此微风，才能“小立伫幽香”－一小立片刻，等待菊花的“幽香”一缕缕飘来。由此可见，作品所展现的幕幕图景，尽管流转变化，却和谐统一。诗人运笔是极为细密的。
中间两联正面描叙诗人的赏玩过程。“俯窥”句赏水，“小立”句赏花。“绿静”二字颇可玩味。王安石之前，已有不少诗人分别用“绿”、“静”来表现水的动人，如李白《襄阳歌》：“遥看汉水鸭头绿。”谢朓《晚登三山还望京邑》：“澄江静如练。”所以，用“绿静”来代指水，就暗含了这一类描写在内，因而其作用也就不限于和“幽香”成对，求得属对工整，同时也富于画意，正好显示了水的“可怜”（可爱）。
宋人许顗《彦周诗话》曾说：“荆公爱看水中影，此亦性所好，如‘秋水写明河，迢迢藕花底’。又《桃花》诗云：‘晴沟春涨绿周遭，俯视红影移鱼船’。皆观其影也。”三、四两句中的“俯窥”池塘，并非仅仅看水（那样就用不着“窥”了），而是入迷地欣赏着“水中影”：月影、树影、花影以及与此相关的一切景物。“窥”字极为传神，活灵活现地写出了诗人的个性；不仅如此，它还和“小立”形成对照，风致悠然。
“携幼寻新的”承“小立”句而来：塘畔的缕缕幽香诱惑着诗人，于是他兴致更高，“携幼”相寻。画面中出现了一老一少，相互之间又是如此亲密，款语绵绵，这就照应了上文的“笑语”。“扶衰坐野航”，进一层表现赏玩之兴。“扶衰”，虽衰老而强起；“野航”，一种“恰受两三人”（杜甫《南邻》）的小船。年老体弱，而所坐又非画舫楼船，既无箫管之喧，又无友朋之乐，却唤起他如此高的游兴。不为别的，正是这秋月映照着的林塘夜色和“岁晚惜流光”的深切感情。所以“扶衰”并非叹老，“野航”亦非调侃，而是要通过二者更深刻地反衬出他的情怀。
最后一联画龙点睛。“延缘”，徘徊流连。“延缘久未已”具有很大的容量，它不仅包括了上述全部赏玩过程，还表明“扶衰坐野航”之后诗人仍在夜游。至于他何时会“已”，没有明写，也没有暗示，只是意味深长地说明了“延缘久未已”的原因：“岁晚惜流光。”有了这一句，全部描写赏玩的画面就获得了灵魂，读者尽可根据自己的理解去想象，去回味。此诗虽然用笔平实，仍有含蓄不尽之意，原因正在于此。

王安石（1021年12月18日－1086年5月21日），字介甫，号半山，谥文，封荆国公。世人又称王荆公。汉族，北宋抚州临川人（今江西省抚州市临川区邓家巷人），中国北宋著名政治家、思想家、文学家、改革家，唐宋八大家之一。欧阳修称赞王安石：“翰林风月三千首，吏部文章二百年。老去自怜心尚在，后来谁与子争先。”传世文集有《王临川集》、《临川集拾遗》等。其诗文各体兼擅，词虽不多，但亦擅长，且有名作《桂枝香》等。而王荆公最得世人哄传之诗句莫过于《泊船瓜洲》中的“春风又绿江南岸，明月何时照我还。”
