译文
酒杯，你靠近我跟前来，老夫今天要整饬自身，不使它再受到伤害。为什么我经年累月酒喝若狂，喉咙干得像焦釜，真不自在；现在我终于患病疏懒嗜睡，一躺下便鼾声如雷。你却说：“刘伶是古今最通达的人，他说醉死何妨就地埋。”可叹啊，你对于自己的知心朋友，竟然会说出这样的话来，真是薄情少恩令人愤慨！
再加上以歌舞作饮酒的媒介，算起来应该把酒当作鸩毒疑猜。何况怨恨不管是大是小，都产生于人们过分的钟爱；事物无论多么美好，喜爱过度也会变成灾害。现在我郑重地与你约定：“你不要再逗留，应当赶快离开，我的力量仍然可以将你摔坏。”酒杯惶恐地连连拜谢，说：“你赶我走，我就离去，招我来，我也一定再回来。”
注释
沁园春：词牌名。又名“东仙”“寿星明”“洞庭春色”等。双调一百十四字，上片十三句四平韵，下片十二句五平韵。
止酒：戒酒。
汝：你，此指酒杯。
点检形骸：检查身体。
甚：说什么。抱渴：得了酒渴病，口渴即想饮酒。
焦釜：烧糊的锅。
气似奔雷：鼾声如雷。
“汝说”句：《晋书·刘伶传》载，刘伶纵酒放荡，经常乘一辆车，带一壶酒，令人带着锄头跟随，并说“死便掘地以埋”。
浑如此：竟然如此。
为媒：作为媒引，诱人饮酒。
算合作：算起来应该看作。鸩毒：用鸩鸟羽毛制成的剧毒，溶入酒中，饮之立死。古时常以鸩酒杀人。
成言：说定，约定。
亟（jí）：急，快。
肆：原指处死后陈尸示众。这里指打碎酒杯。
再拜：古代一种隆重的礼节，先后拜两次。
麾（huī）：同“挥”。

此词作于宋宁宗庆元二年（1196）辛弃疾闲居瓢泉时。在此两年前，辛弃疾遭台臣弹劾，罢福建安抚使，再次退居信州带湖。

沁园春·将止酒戒酒杯使勿近鉴赏
辛弃疾的词，素以风格多样而著称。他的这首《沁园春》，以戒酒为题，便是一首令人解颐的新奇滑稽之作。题目“将止酒，戒酒杯使勿近”就颇新颖，似乎病酒不怪自己贪杯，倒怪酒杯紧跟自己，从而将酒杯人格化，为词安排了一主（即词中的“我”）一仆（杯）两个角色。全词通过“我”与杯的问答，风趣而又委婉地表达了作者对南宋政权的失望与自己心中的苦闷。
此词首句“杯汝来前！”从主人怒气冲冲的吆喝开始，以“汝”呼杯，而自称“老子”（犹“老夫”），接着就郑重告知：今朝检查身体，发觉长年口渴，喉咙口干得似焦炙的铁釜；近来又嗜睡，睡中鼻息似雷鸣。要追问其中缘由。言外之意，即是因酒致病，故酒杯之罪责难逃。“咽如焦釜”“气似奔雷”，以夸张的手法极写病酒反应的严重，同时也说明主人一向酗酒，接着“汝说”三句，是酒杯对主人责问的答辩。它说：酒徒就该像刘伶那样只管有酒即醉，死后不妨埋掉了事，才算是古今达者。这是不称“杯说”而称“汝说”，是主人复述杯的答话，其语气中，既惊讶于杯的冷酷无情，又似不得不承认其中有几分道理。故又叹息：“汝于知己，真少恩哉！”口气不但软了许多，反而承认了酒杯曾是自己的“知己”。
词的下片语气又转，似表明主人戒酒的决心。下片以一“更”字领起，使已软的语气又强硬起来，给人以一弛一张之感。古人设宴饮酒大多以歌舞助兴，而这种场合也最易过量伤身。古人又认为鸩鸟的羽毛置酒中可成毒酒。酒杯凭歌舞等媒介使人沉醉，正该以人间鸩毒视之。这等于说酒杯惯于媚附取容，软刀子杀人。如此罪名，死有余辜。然而这里只说“算合作人间鸩毒猜”，倒底并未确认。接着又说：何况怨意不论大小，常由爱极而生；事物不论何等好，过了头就会成为灾害。实些话表面看来振振有词，实际上等于承认自己于酒是爱极生怨，酒于自己是美过成灾。这就为酒杯开脱不少罪责，故而从轻发落，只是遣之“使勿近”。“吾力犹能肆汝杯”，话很吓人，然而“勿留亟退”的处分并不重，主人戒酒的决心可知矣！杯似乎看出了这一点，亦不再辩解，只是再拜道：“麾之即去，招则须来。”“麾之即去”没什么，“招则须来”则大可玩味，说得俏皮。
总之，这首词通过拟人化的手法，成功地塑造了“杯”这样一个喜剧形象。它善于揣摸主人心理，能应对，知进退。在主人盛怒的情况下，它能通过辞令，化严重为轻松。当其被斥退时，还说“麾之即去，招则须来”，等于说主人还是离不开自己，自己准备随时听候召唤。
作者通过这种生动活泼的方式，委婉地述说了自己长期壮志不展，积愤难平，故常借酒发泄，以至于拖垮了身体，而自己戒酒，实出于不得已这样一种复杂的心情。
另外，词中大量采取散文句法以适应表现内容的需要，此即以文为词。与原有调式不同，又大量熔铸经史子集的用语，从而丰富了词意的表现，在词的创作上也有其独到之处。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
