世道人心不可说，老天降罚亦愈烈。炮火动戕百万人，谁知杀劫犹未毕。
宇宙何处无危机，旅行惨祸起肘腋。年来物价千倍增，淞沪更高数十级。
利之所在蚁附膻，竟言贸贩胜坐食。大包小裹负累累，粉米鱼肉随意挈。
时装女子健如虎，橐驼其背卷其发。盎然入站人注目，站员大半是相识。
抄检关头索重赂，小票私费含笑纳。更有红黑其帽子，狐假虎威肆饕餮。
上车下车涌如潮，满坑满谷路阻塞。天明指望各东西，跔蹐权耐此一夕。
夜色迷离睡正酣，路夫忘捩分道筈。两列车行一直线，势如箭激起霹雳。
后车脱榫向空奔，泰山压顶万钧力。人入铁桶不能逃，化为齑粉血狼藉。
或断手足或两截，宛若商君受车裂。尸丛亦有未死人，声嘶呼救更惨绝。
货物浸淫血渍中，抛残金饰无人拾。死者身有县民证，姓名可按无差忒。
当局谁发恻隐心，给予椑楄又抚恤？子觅其母夫觅妻，招魂奔赴嚎啕泣。
记得今年官渎里，两车接吻大流血。前车颠覆曾几时，又在正仪演惨剧。
故鬼新鬼怨金椎，交通乃做人杀物。君等若为国家死，雄鬼声名应赫赫。
奈何骈死荒山道，不过鸿毛同一掷。呜呼，造物不仁人刍狗，饥驱利诱趋鬼窟。
地下相适皆萍水，五雷击顶有夙慝。天实为之司彰瘅，行车不慎奚足责。
庆生还者大有人，道路纷纷皆叹息。可怜若辈不知惩，依然携索负裹多于鲫。

薛葆煌，（1872-1958），字蕙良，号纬亮，无锡玉祁镇礼舍人，1902年壬寅科举人，1909-1915年，先后在绍兴盐局，北京邮传部及津浦铁路局任职。返锡后，长期息影田园，以事亲课子，种竹栽花为务。抗战时期，年逾古稀，曾出任洛社中学校长。著有《丹桂室文集》、《丹桂室诗词》等。
