唐代：独孤及
阴阳开阖，元气变化，泄为百川，凝为崇山，山川之作，与天地并，疑有真宰而未知尸其功者。有若巨灵赑屃，攘臂其间，左排首阳，右拓太华，绝地轴使中裂，坼山脊为两道，然后导河而东，俾无有害，留此巨迹于峰之巅。后代揭厉于玄踪者，聆其风而骇之，或谓诙诡不经，存而不议。
及以为学者拘其一域，则惑于余方。曾不知创宇宙，作万象，月而日之，星而辰之，使轮转环绕，箭驰风疾，可骇于俗有甚于此者。徒观其阴骘无眹，未尝骇焉。而巨灵特以有迹骇世，世果惑矣。天地有官，阴阳有藏，锻炼六气，作为万形。形有不遂其性，气有不达于物，则造物者取元精之和，合而散之，财而成之，如埏埴炉锤之为瓶为缶，为钩为棘，规者矩者，大者细者，然则黄河、华岳之在六合，犹陶冶之有瓶缶钩棘也。巨灵之作于自然，盖万化之一工也。天机冥动而圣功启，元精密感而外物应。故有无迹之迹，介于石焉。可以见神行无方，妙用不测。彼管窥者乃循迹而求之，揣其所至于巨细之境，则道斯远矣。
夫以手执大象，力持化权，指挥太极，蹴蹋颢气，立乎无间，行乎无穷，则捩长河如措杯，擘太华若破块，不足骇也。世人方以禹凿龙门以导西河为神奇，可不为大哀乎？峨峨灵掌，仙指如画，隐辚磅礴，上挥太清。远而视之，如欲扪青天以掬皓露，攀扶桑而捧白日，不去不来，若飞若动，非至神曷以至此？
唐兴百三十有八载，余尉于华阴，华人以为纪嶖嵫，勒之罘，颂峄山，铭燕然，旧典也。玄圣巨迹，岂帝者巡省伐国之不若欤？其古之阙文以俟知言欤？仰之叹之，斐然琢石为志。其词曰：
天作高山，设险西方。至精未分，川壅而伤。帝命巨灵，经启地脉。乃眷斯顾，高掌远跖。砉如剖竹，騞若裂帛。川开山破，天动地坼。黄河太华，自此而辟。神返虚极，迹挂石壁。迹岂我名？神非我灵。变化翕忽，希夷杳冥。道本不生，化亦无形。天何言哉！山川以宁。断鳌补天。世未睹焉。夸父愚公，莫知其踪。屹彼灵掌，悬诸巃嵸。介二大都，亭亭高耸。霞赩烟喷，云抱花捧。百神依凭，万峰朝拱。长于上古，以阅群动。下视众山，蜉蝣蠛蠓。彼邦人士，永揖遗烈。瞻之在前，如揭日月。三川有竭，此掌不灭。

独孤及（725～777），唐朝散文家，字至之，河南洛阳人，天宝末，以道举高第，补华阴尉。代宗召为左拾遗，俄改太常博士。迁礼部员外郎，历濠、舒二州刺史，以治课加检校司封郎中，赐金紫。徙常州，卒谥曰宪。集三十卷，内诗三卷，今编诗二卷。
