人生何足贵，贵在天资秀。譬如沙石间，金玉岂常有。
有才不善用，多为淫邪诱。嗟哉栋梁材，往往厄樵手。
章子吾不识，美在众人口。如何材艺多，四十无所守。
所守者何为，非贵亦非富。古今圣与贤，历历垂星斗。
景行苟有成，进退无一缪。不能攻天下，尚可名身后。
百年随飘风，白发勇未斗。良时且不反，饮恨唯尸柩。
无谓学巳足，大海难掬漱。无谓过可文，希珍尚磨垢。
智者当自知，既往诚何咎。西子蒙不洁，见者掩鼻走。
恶人幸斋戒，上帝必孚佑。相如窃妻逃，犊鼻从沽酒。

李觏(1009—1059)，字泰伯，号盱江先生，是我国北宋时期一位重要的哲学家、思想家、教育家、改革家，他生当北宋中期“积贫积弱”之世，虽出身寒微，但能刻苦自励、奋发向学、勤于著述，以求康国济民。他俊辩能文，举茂才异等不中，讲学自给，来学者常数十百人。李觏博学通识，尤长于礼。他不拘泥于汉、唐诸儒的旧说，敢于抒发己见，推理经义，成为 “一时儒宗”。今存《直讲李先生文集》三十七卷，有《外集》三卷附后。为纪念李觏，资溪县建有泰伯公园，塑有李觏雕像，李觏纪念馆正在建设之中。
