城西有祠临水涘，翠松列植路如砥。
问之耆老此为谁，唐大历中吴刺史。
刺史为民开陂湖，故迹犹传堰九里。
年很小鼓报丰穰，决渠为雨润泽美。
遗爱有桥名怀恩，姓名不载太史氏。
昔汉吴公治第一，列传寂寂名无纪。
刺史岂其苗裔欤，明州政亦河南比。
堂上大书荆公诗，兰菊春秋百世祀。
地志只称王长官，有功于民盖一揆。
吾闻是邦多贤守，裴王碑字颜与李。
惟侯盛德著人心，彼石可焚祠弗圯。
广德湖为鸿隙陂，召棠栾社谁敢毁。
秔稌充羡侯之赐，庙食辰存如此水。

王应麟（1223—1296），南宋官员、经史学者。字伯厚，号深宁居士，又号厚斋。庆元府鄞县（今浙江省宁波市鄞州区）人。理宗淳祐元年进士，宝祐四年复中博学宏词科。历官太常寺主簿、通判台州，召为秘节监、权中书舍人，知徽州、礼部尚书兼给事中等职。其为人正直敢言，屡次冒犯权臣丁大全、贾似道而遭罢斥，后辞官回乡，专意著述二十年。为学宗朱熹，涉猎经史百家、天文地理，熟悉掌故制度，长于考证。一生著述颇富，计有二十余种、六百多卷，相传《三字经》为其所著。
