刘安世（1048年－1125年），字器之，号元城、读易老人。魏州元城县（今河北大名东北）人。 北宋后期大臣。熙宁六年（1073年），刘安世登进士第，不就选。从学于司马光。后因司马光、吕公著举荐，升任右正言。累官左谏议大夫，进枢密都承旨。以直谏闻名，被时人称之为“殿上虎”。章惇掌权时，贬至英州、梅州安置。宋徽宗时获赦，历知衡、鼎、郓州及镇定府。蔡京为相后，连谪至峡州羁管。宣和七年（1125年），刘安世去世，年七十八。宋孝宗时赐谥“忠定”。有《尽言集》等传世。
