高树多悲风，海水扬其波。
译文：高高的树木不幸时常受到狂风的吹袭，平静的海面被吹得不住地波浪迭起。
注释：悲风：凄厉的寒风。扬其波：掀起波浪。此二句比喻环境凶险。
利剑不在掌，结友何须多？
译文：宝剑虽利却不在我的手掌之中，无援助之力而结交很多朋友又有何必？
注释：利剑：锋利的剑。这里比喻权势。结友：交朋友。何须：何必，何用。
不见篱间雀，见鹞自投罗。
译文：你没有看见篱笆上面那可怜的黄雀，为躲避凶狠的鹞却又撞进了网里。
注释：鹞：一种非常凶狠的鸟类，鹰的一种，似鹰而小。罗：捕鸟用的网。
罗家得雀喜，少年见雀悲。
译文：张设罗网的人见到黄雀是多么欢喜，少年见到挣扎的黄雀不由心生怜惜。
注释：罗家：设罗网捕雀的人。
拔剑捎罗网，黄雀得飞飞。
译文：拔出利剑对着罗网用力挑去，黄雀才得以飞离那受难之地。
注释：捎：挥击；削破；除去。
飞飞摩苍天，来下谢少年。
译文：振展双翅直飞上苍茫的高空，获救的黄雀又飞来向少年表示谢意。
注释：飞飞：自由飞行貌。摩：接近、迫近。“摩苍天”是形容黄雀飞得很高。

曹植（192－232），字子建，沛国谯（今安徽省亳州市）人。三国曹魏著名文学家，建安文学代表人物。魏武帝曹操之子，魏文帝曹丕之弟，生前曾为陈王，去世后谥号“思”，因此又称陈思王。后人因他文学上的造诣而将他与曹操、曹丕合称为“三曹”，南朝宋文学家谢灵运更有“天下才有一石，曹子建独占八斗”的评价。王士祯尝论汉魏以来二千年间诗家堪称“仙才”者，曹植、李白、苏轼三人耳。
