枫林红透晚烟青，客思满鸥汀。二十年来，无家种竹，犹借竹为名。
译文：枫树林红透了，晚烟青青，天天面对安居水乡汀洲的鸥鸟，到处充满流亡飘泊的愁情。我天性爱竹，二十年来无家无地种竹，还借竹为名。
注释：少年游：词牌名，又名《玉蜡梅枝》、《小阑干》等，双调五十字，前片三平韵，后片两平韵。鸥汀：鸡鹭栖息的沙洲。汀：水中或水边的小块平地。犹借竹为名：蒋捷号竹山，系取于家乡竹山之名。无家种竹云云，言其归家不得、身无安居处。
春风未了秋风到，老去万缘轻。只把平生，闲吟闲咏，谱作棹歌声。
译文：春风还未吹尽，秋风已到，年纪大了，一切尘缘我都看轻。我只把平生的经历闲吟闲水，谱成船夫、渔人的歌声。
注释：棹歌：渔歌，船夫之歌。棹：摇船的用具，代指船。

蒋捷（生卒年不详），字胜欲，号竹山，宋末元初阳羡（今江苏宜兴）人。先世为宜兴巨族，咸淳十年（1274）进士。南宋亡，深怀亡国之痛，隐居不仕，人称“竹山先生”、“樱桃进士”，其气节为时人所重。长于词，与周密、王沂孙、张炎并称“宋末四大家”。其词多抒发故国之思、山河之恸 、风格多样，而以悲凉清俊、萧寥疏爽为主。尤以造语奇巧之作，在宋季词坛上独标一格，有《竹山词》1卷，收入毛晋《宋六十名家词》本、《疆村丛书》本；又《竹山词》2卷，收入涉园景宋元明词续刊本。
