丝丝杨柳丝丝雨。春在溟濛处。楼儿忒小不藏愁。几度和云飞去、觅归舟。
译文：垂下一丝丝杨柳，飘下一丝丝细雨。春天就在迷迷潆漾之处。我觉得梳妆楼太小了，藏不下我的许多忧愁。闲愁好几回同云飞去寻觅一只送我回乡的轻舟。
注释：虞美人：词牌名，此调原为唐教坊曲，初咏项羽宠姬虞美人，因以为名。又名《一江春水》、《玉壶水》、《巫山十二峰》等。双调，五十六字，上下片各四句，皆为两仄韵转两平韵。古代词开始大体以所咏事物为题，配乐歌唱逐渐形成固定曲调，后即开始名为调名即词牌。梳楼：指女子梳妆楼，即闺楼。丝丝：柳枝的柔姿，描画了春雨连绵不断的形象。喻指丝丝愁绪。溟濛：指黑暗模糊，泛指春雨弥漫。忒：太，过甚。藏：隐忍、按捺已久。
天怜客子乡关远。借与花消遣。海棠红近绿阑干。才卷朱帘却又、晚风寒。
译文：上天怜我客中游子故乡遥远，借一株海棠花给我消遣。海棠花淋雨后更红艳，好像有意靠近绿栏杆。可我刚刚卷起红帘子，偏偏又碰上晚来风寒。
注释：客子：指思妇远在异乡的丈夫。乡关：家乡。消遣：消解、排遣愁闷。阑干：本指栏杆，这里是借指海棠花红绿相映、纵横交错。

蒋捷（生卒年不详），字胜欲，号竹山，宋末元初阳羡（今江苏宜兴）人。先世为宜兴巨族，咸淳十年（1274）进士。南宋亡，深怀亡国之痛，隐居不仕，人称“竹山先生”、“樱桃进士”，其气节为时人所重。长于词，与周密、王沂孙、张炎并称“宋末四大家”。其词多抒发故国之思、山河之恸 、风格多样，而以悲凉清俊、萧寥疏爽为主。尤以造语奇巧之作，在宋季词坛上独标一格，有《竹山词》1卷，收入毛晋《宋六十名家词》本、《疆村丛书》本；又《竹山词》2卷，收入涉园景宋元明词续刊本。
