南望朱雀门，北望宣德楼，皆旧御路也。
州桥南北是天街，父老年年等驾回。
译文：州桥南北的天街之上，中原父老伫足南望，他们年年盼望王师返回。忍泪失声询使者，几时真有六军来？哭不成声，强忍泪水询问使者：什么时候真有我们朝廷的军队过来？
注释：州桥：正名为天汉桥，在汴梁（今河南省开封市）宣德门和朱雀门之间，横跨汴河。朱雀门：汴京（今河南开封市）旧城南面有三座门，朱雀门是中间的一座，为正南门。宣德楼：宫城的正门楼。天街：京城的街道叫天街，这里说州桥南北街，是指当年北宋皇帝车驾行经的御道。父老：指汴梁的百姓。等驾回：等候宋朝天子的车驾回来。驾，皇帝乘的车子。忍泪失声询使者，几时真有六军来？失声：哭不成声。询：探问，打听。六军：古时规定，一军为一万二千五百人，天子设六军。此处借指王师，即南宋的军队。

范成大（1126-1193），字致能，号称石湖居士。汉族，平江吴县（今江苏苏州）人。南宋诗人。谥文穆。从江西派入手，后学习中、晚唐诗，继承了白居易、王建、张籍等诗人新乐府的现实主义精神，终于自成一家。风格平易浅显、清新妩媚。诗题材广泛，以反映农村社会生活内容的作品成就最高。他与杨万里、陆游、尤袤合称南宋“中兴四大诗人”。
