眼前花怎得接连枝，眉上锁新教配钥匙，描笔儿勾销了伤春事。闷葫芦铰断线儿，锦鸳鸯别对了个雄雌。野蜂儿难寻觅，蝎虎儿干害死，蚕蛹儿毕罢了相思。
译文：眼前的花怎么能够接上连理枝，要打开紧皱的鼎上锁须得重新配钥匙。描几笔字画勾销伤在的心事。心里像闷葫芦不明白怎么会断了线，为什么好好一对佳偶却另配了雄雌？他就像野蜂一般难以寻觅，我却像蝎虎一般活活被坑害死，从今后像蚕蛹般断了相思。
注释：“水仙子”又称为《湘妃怨》、《冯夷曲》、《凌波曲》、《凌波仙》等。入【双调】，亦入【中吕】、【南吕】。首二句宜对。六、七句可作五字，宜对；亦可作两个四字句，与末句相配。兼作小令、套曲。也可带《折桂令》为带过曲。南曲略同。连枝：连理枝。眉上锁：喻双眉紧皱如锁难开。钥匙：开锁用的东西。描笔：画笔。勾销：消除，这里指忘掉。闷葫芦：俗语，指不说话，亦指纳闷。铰断了线儿，这里指断绝了联系。野蜂儿：指像野蜂一样的男人。蝎虎：即壁虎，又名守宫。干害死：白白地被坑害死。毕罢了，结束了。

乔吉(1280?～1345) 元代杂剧家、散曲作家。一称乔吉甫，字梦符，号笙鹤翁，又号惺惺道人。太原人，流寓杭州。钟嗣成在《录鬼簿》中说他“美姿容，善词章，以威严自饬，人敬畏之”，又作吊词云：“平生湖海少知音，几曲宫商大用心。百年光景还争甚？空赢得，雪鬓侵，跨仙禽，路绕云深。”从中大略可见他的为人。剧作存目十一，有《杜牧之诗酒扬州梦》、《李太白匹配金钱记》、《玉箫女两世姻缘》三种传世。
