一勺西湖水。渡江来，百年歌舞，百年酣醉。回首洛阳花石尽，烟渺黍离之地。更不复、新亭堕泪。簇乐红妆摇画舫，问中流、击楫何人是？千古恨，几时洗？
译文：眼前一湾湖水（西湖），似乎只有一勺那么大，而目渡江以来，这里就成了君臣上下的偏安之地，在此整日歌舞沉醉，竟然已有百年，回头眺望古都，那洛阳的花石已化为灰烬，京都汴梁的宫殿已经是淹没在渺渺烟雾中的黍离之地。南渡以后，已经没有人再去记挂往日的故地，时间久了，连那些空发感叹的人也没有了。西湖上一片笙管笛箫之声，那精美的船只上仕女杂坐，笑声不断，歌舞不绝。而那像祖逖一样誓将中流击楫、收复中原的人却又在哪里呢？故土沉沦、帝王被掳之千古恨事，什么时候才能得到雪洗呢？
注释：贺新郎：词牌名，又名“金缕曲”、“乳燕飞”、“貂裘换酒”、“金缕词”、“金缕歌”、“风敲竹”、“贺新凉”等，此调声情沉郁苍凉，宜抒发激越情感，历来为词家所习用。一勺：形容西湖湖小水浅。渡江：指宋高宗建炎元年渡过长江，在杭州建都。洛阳花石：宋徽宗爱石，曾从浙中采集珍奇观赏石，号花石纲。新亭：又名劳劳亭，建于三国吴时，位于南京。当年东晋渡江后，贵族每逢春光明媚的时节，便登上新亭赏景饮酒。一次有人说：“风景不殊，正自有山河之异。”众人北望故国，相视而泣。（《世说新语》）簇乐：多种乐器一起演奏。千古恨：指宋徽宗、宋钦宗被金人掳走的靖康之耻。
余生自负澄清志。更有谁、磻溪未遇，傅岩未起。国事如今谁倚仗，衣带一江而已！便都道、江神堪恃。借问孤山林处士，但掉头、笑指梅花蕊。天下事，可知矣！
译文：我像那个范滂一样，生平怀着收复失地、再振国威的雄心壮志，一心想要澄清中原，然而却请缨无路，报国无门，如同那未遇到文王的姜尚，没被高宗举用的傅说。现在国事要依靠什么来支撑呢？这长江不过是只有一衣带宽而已，那些君王臣子却都说有此天险大可以安然无忧。那些士大夫们依然不问国事，我原本想要和他们议论时局、商讨国事，他们却学林逋隐居观梅，忘怀国事，寄情于山水，并以此相标榜。如此情状，天下大事的结局，也就可想而知了。
注释：磻溪：指姜太公在磻溪垂钓，遇周文王而拜相的故事。傅岩：相传傅说原是傅岩地方的一个筑墙的奴隶，后成了商王武丁重用的大臣。林处士：林逋，北宋人，隐居西湖孤山三十年，养鹤种梅。喻指那些不问国事的清高之士。

文及翁（生卒年不详）字时学，号本心，绵州（今四川绵阳）人，徙居吴兴（今浙江湖州）。宝祐元年（1253）中一甲第二名进士，为昭庆军节度使掌书记。景定三年（1262），以太学录召试馆职，言公田事，有名朝野。除秘书省正字，历校书郎、秘书郎、著作佐郎、著作郎。咸淳元年（1265）六月，出知漳州。四年，以国子司业，为礼部郎官兼学士院权直兼国史院编修官、实录院检讨官。年末，以直华文阁知袁州。德祐初，官至资政殿学士、签书枢密院事。元兵将至，弃官遁去。入元，累征不起。有文集二十卷。不传。《全宋词》据《钱塘遗事》卷一辑其词一首。
