凉风厉秋节，司典告详刑。
译文：肃杀的秋季凉风已至，就该慎重考虑征伐之事了。
注释：厉：整肃。秋节：秋季。厉秋节，到了用兵的季节。司典：主管刑法之官。详刑：亦作“祥刑”，指决狱应该审慎，善于用刑。
我君顺时发，桓桓东南征。
译文：我们主公适时去出征，英勇大军出征讨伐孙权。
注释：我君：指曹操。顺：适应。时：时令。桓桓：武勇的样子。东南征：指征讨孙权。
泛舟盖长川，陈卒被隰埛。
译文：出征的船队覆盖江面，陈列的士兵遍布郊野。
注释：泛舟：行船。盖长川：覆盖水面。陈卒：排列起来的士兵。被：覆盖。隰：低洼的地方。埛：同“垌”，遥远的郊野。
征夫怀亲戚，谁能无恋情。
译文：征战将士思念着亲人，谁能没有眷念的感情。
注释：征夫：出征的士兵。亲戚：亲人。恋情：依恋之情。
拊衿倚舟樯，眷眷思邺城。
译文：抚摸着衣襟倚靠着桅杆，眷顾不已想着邺城。
注释：拊：同“抚”，抚摸。衿：衣襟。樯：船的桅杆。眷眷：依恋不舍的样子。
哀彼东山人，喟然感鹳鸣。
译文：让人同情《东山》主人公，鹳鸟长鸣唤起心中的悲伤。
注释：东山：《诗经·豳风》中的一篇，描写古代征战的生活和士兵对往事、故乡、亲人的思念。东山人：指《东山》诗的作者。喟然：叹息的样子。鹳：鸟名，形状似鹤。感鹳鸣，鹳之鸣令人感伤。
日月不安处，人谁获恒宁。
译文：日月运行不止，人处战乱之中，又怎能得到安宁。
注释：安处：安宁的生活处境，意谓没有战事。恒：一作“常”。
昔人从公旦，一徂辄三龄。
译文：古人随周公征战，一去就是三年。
注释：公旦：指周公姬旦，周文王之子。徂：往。辄：就。三龄：三年。
今我神武师，暂往必速平。
译文：主公的神勇之师，定能在短时间内迅速取胜。
注释：神武：英勇威武。神武师，指曹操南征的队伍。速平：迅速平定。
弃余亲睦恩，输力竭忠贞。
译文：舍弃与家人的深厚感情，为此次征战贡献力量竭尽忠贞。
注释：亲睦恩：指父母、妻子之情。输力：尽力。
惧无一夫用，报我素餐诚。
译文：只怕我力微德薄，作用还抵不上一个平常人，只有诚心报答无功而受禄的恩遇。
注释：一夫：一个普通的男人。素餐：白吃饭，意谓不劳而食。
夙夜自恲性，思逝若抽萦。
译文：自己终日感慨，报恩的思绪萦绕于心。
注释：夙夜：早晚，即整天。恲：流露，形于颜色。萦：缠绕。
将秉先登羽，岂敢听金声。
译文：建功立业只愿做先锋，哪还顾得上听鸣金而停止。
注释：羽：箭羽。先登羽，先行出战，喻建功心切。金声：指军中鸣金收兵的号令。

王粲（177-217），字仲宣，山阳郡高平（今山东微山）人。东汉末年著名文学家，“建安七子”之一，由于其文才出众，被称为“七子之冠冕”。初仕刘表，后归曹操。
