有美瑶卿能染翰。千里寄、小诗长简。想初襞苔笺，旋挥翠管红窗畔。渐玉箸、银钩满。
译文：美丽的瑶卿是位能诗能文的才女，从千里之外寄来了一首小诗，一封长信。看了这封信和小诗，眼前不由得呈现出她刚折纸准备书写时的样子。她在红红的小轩窗边，挥动翠管，不一会儿就写好了，不管是小篆还是草书，都写得恰到好处，或笔力遒劲，或笔姿优美。
注释：凤衔杯：词牌名，此调有平韵、仄韵两体。双调五十六字，上片四句四仄韵，下片五句四仄韵。双调六十三字，上片五句四仄韵，下片六句四仄韵。瑶卿：神话传说中王母的侍女，貌甚美，此处指代柳永之妻。染翰：写字作诗。襞：裁纸。苔笺：用苔纸制成的小笺。翠管：毛笔，因笔杆以玉制成，故称翠管。玉箸、银钩：分别指篆书和草书，此处虚指书法。
锦囊收，犀轴卷。常珍重、小斋吟玩。更宝若珠玑，置之怀袖时时看。似频见、千娇面。
译文：我把它们用锦囊收起，用犀轴卷起，很珍视它，经常在书房里欣赏把玩。更把她的书信看成珠玉一样珍贵，常常放在怀中，衣袖中，不时地看一看，每次看见书信，就像看到她千娇百媚的容颜一般。
注释：犀轴：犀角做的轴，用于书画装裱。

柳永，（约987年—约1053年）北宋著名词人，婉约派代表人物。汉族，崇安（今福建武夷山）人，原名三变，字景庄，后改名永，字耆卿，排行第七，又称柳七。宋仁宗朝进士，官至屯田员外郎，故世称柳屯田。他自称“奉旨填词柳三变”，以毕生精力作词，并以“白衣卿相”自诩。其词多描绘城市风光和歌妓生活，尤长于抒写羁旅行役之情，创作慢词独多。铺叙刻画，情景交融，语言通俗，音律谐婉，在当时流传极其广泛，人称“凡有井水饮处，皆能歌柳词”，婉约派最具代表性的人物之一，对宋词的发展有重大影响，代表作 《雨霖铃》《八声甘州》。
