丙午人日，予客长沙别驾之观政堂。堂下曲沼，沼西负古垣，有卢橘幽篁，一径深曲。穿径而南，官梅数十株，如椒、如菽，或红破白露，枝影扶疏。着屐苍苔细石间，野兴横生。亟命驾登定王台，乱湘流，入麓山，湘云低昂，湘波容与，兴尽悲来，醉吟成调。
译文：丙午年的人日，我客居在长沙观政堂。堂下有一个曲形的池沼，池沼西是古墙。生长着卢橘和青竹，一条小径曲折幽篁。穿过小径南行，有官府种的几十株梅花。有的花蕾像花椒，有的花蕾像豆粒，有的稍露浅红，有的微显白色，开放得美丽动人。走在长满苍苔的小石间，顿时兴趣大发，我于是立即决定登古老的定王台，又横渡流湘江，登上岳麓山，站在高处望见湘江上楚水山水相绕。不禁悲从心起，我醉吟成此词。
注释：人日：旧称夏历正月初七日为“人日”。《北史·魏收传》引晋议郎董勋《答问礼俗说》：“正月一日为鸡，二日为狗，三日为猪，四日为羊，五日为牛，六日为马，七日为人。”杜甫《人日》诗：“元日到人日，未有不阴时。”别驾：官名，汉置别驾从事使，为刺史的佐吏，刺史巡视辖境时，别驾乘驿车随行，故名。宋于诸州置通判，近似别驾之职，后世因沿称通判为别驾。曲沼：曲池，曲折迂回的池塘。卢橘：金桔。李时珍《本草纲目》云：“此桔生时青卢色，黄熟时则如金，故有金桔、卢桔之名。”并说：“注《文选》者以枇杷为卢桔，误矣。司马相如《上林赋》云：‘卢桔夏熟，枇杷橪柿，’以二物并列，则非一物明矣。”幽篁：指幽深的竹林。屐：木鞋，底有二齿，以行泥地。引申为鞋的泛称。定王台：在长沙城东，汉长沙定王所筑。乱：横渡。《诗·大雅·公刘》：“涉谓为乱。”疏：“水以流不顺，横渡则绝其流，故为乱。”《书·禹贡》：“乱于河。”孔传：“绝流曰乱。”麓山：一名岳麓山，在长沙城西，下临湘江。容与：舒缓的样子。
古城阴，有官梅几许，红萼未宜簪。池面冰胶，墙腰雪老，云意还又沉沉。翠藤共闲穿径竹，渐笑语惊起卧沙禽。野老林泉，故王台榭，呼唤登临。
译文：一片官府的梅树林，倚傍着古老的城墙。花苞刚刚露出，尚无法摘下。池塘上的冰凝固如胶，墙角的积雪要化去了。天空中轻云浮荡，意气沉沉。我们曾共同拄着翠竹的手杖，愉快地在竹间小道漫步，一路上笑声不断，惊起了睡在沙滩上的鸥鹭鸳鸯。我们这些流连于山间的老人，有心去问候故王的台榭回廊。
注释：红萼：红花。萼，花蒂。冰胶：冰冻。墙腰：墙的中部。故王台榭：指汉长沙定王刘发所筑之台。登临：登山临水。也指游览。
南去北来何事？荡湘云楚水，目极伤心。朱户黏鸡，金盘簇燕，空叹时序侵寻。记曾共西楼雅集，想垂杨还袅万丝金。待得归鞍到时，只怕春深。
译文：我究竟为什么要四处飘泊？就像眼前的湘云楚水，不住地向远方流荡？我极目远望，只见一片烟水迷茫，令我生出无限感伤。眼见人家的大门上贴了金鸡的图样，春盘中把应节的玉燕盛上，人们都正在团圆，节日的气氛越来越浓厚。可我却漂泊在外，只能为时光不再而独自伤心。我还清楚地记得，当初与恋人相聚幽会的幸福时光。可以想象到那里的垂柳，如今又是春天柳丝飘扬，一派新鲜的春色盎然。可等我骑马返回的时候，想与她再见面，只怕春天已过，一切一去不会回头。
注释：目极：用尽目力远望。黏鸡：《荆楚岁时记》：“人日贴画鸡于户，悬苇索其上，插符于旁，百鬼畏之。”金盘句：金盘，指春盘，古俗于立春日，取生菜、果品、饼、糖等，置于盘中为食，取迎新之意谓之春盘。周密《武林旧事》立春条云：立春前一日“后苑办造春盘供进，及分赐贵邸宰臣巨珰，翠缕红丝，金鸡玉燕，备极精巧，每盘值万钱。”侵寻：渐进。万丝金：白居易《杨柳枝》十二首其九：“一树春风万万枝，嫩于金色软于丝。”

姜夔，南宋文学家、音乐家。人品秀拔，体态清莹，气貌若不胜衣，望之若神仙中人。往来鄂、赣、皖、苏、浙间，与诗人词家杨万里、范成大、辛弃疾等交游。庆元中，曾上书乞正太常雅乐，他少年孤贫，屡试不第，终生未仕，一生转徙江湖，靠卖字和朋友接济为生。他多才多艺，精通音律，能自度曲，其词格律严密。其作品素以空灵含蓄著称，有《白石道人歌曲》等。姜夔对诗词、散文、书法、音乐，无不精善，是继苏轼之后又一难得的艺术全才。
