皇都今夕知何夕。特地风光盈绮陌。金丝玉管咽春空，蜡炬兰灯晓夜色。
译文：今晚京城不知是什么特殊的日子，到处都是美丽神奇的景象。各种乐器有如万马齐鸣，涤荡着京城的夜空。蜡炬兰灯熊熊燃烧，亮如白昼。
注释：玉楼春：：词牌名。亦称“木兰花”、“春晓曲”、“西湖曲”、“惜春容”、“归朝欢令”等。双调五十六字，前后阕格式相同，各三仄韵，一韵到底。皇都：指北宋都城汴京。特地：特意。特别。绮陌：纵横交错的道路。风楼：指宫内楼阁，也指妇女居处。
凤楼十二神仙宅。珠履三千鹓鹭客。金吾不禁六街游，狂杀云踪并雨迹。
译文：灯红酒绿的街上青楼妓院随处可见，那些出来游冶闲逛的妓女像鸩鹭一样成群结伴。金吾子对妓女成群在街上游冶视若无睹，任其随意拉客。游冶狎妓的行为已经到了疯狂至极的地步。
注释：珠履：缀有明珠的鞋子，指代豪门贵族。鹓鹭客：鹓和鹭是两种鸟，飞行有序，排列整齐，因以比喻朝廷中文武百官。金吾不禁：取消夜禁。金吾：官名，掌管京城的戒备防务。云踪、雨迹：比喻男女欢爱的情事。

柳永，（约987年—约1053年）北宋著名词人，婉约派代表人物。汉族，崇安（今福建武夷山）人，原名三变，字景庄，后改名永，字耆卿，排行第七，又称柳七。宋仁宗朝进士，官至屯田员外郎，故世称柳屯田。他自称“奉旨填词柳三变”，以毕生精力作词，并以“白衣卿相”自诩。其词多描绘城市风光和歌妓生活，尤长于抒写羁旅行役之情，创作慢词独多。铺叙刻画，情景交融，语言通俗，音律谐婉，在当时流传极其广泛，人称“凡有井水饮处，皆能歌柳词”，婉约派最具代表性的人物之一，对宋词的发展有重大影响，代表作 《雨霖铃》《八声甘州》。
