魏晋：支遁
五岳盘神基，四渎涌荡津。
注释：五岳：泰、衡、华、恒、嵩为上古时天子封禅祭祀的五座大山，并称为东、南、西、北、中五岳。神基：神仙居止处，多指大山。《隋书·薛道衡传》有句“帝系灵长，神基崇峻。”四渎：淮、江、河、济为上古时天子封禅祭祀的四条大川，并称东、南、西、北四渎。渎，大河也。荡津：平坦的水洼。
动求目方智，默守标静仁。
注释：动求句：行动时以正直的智谋和思虑为目的。
苟不宴出处，托好有常因。
注释：苟不句：谓倘若不能适应仕途进退的变化。
寻元存终古，洞往想逸民。
注释：寻元：元通源，追寻根源。终古：久远的往昔、上古时代。洞往：回顾往昔。洞意为洞悉、透彻。逸民：亦作佚民，即隐居避世者。
玉洁箕岩下，金声濑沂滨。
注释：玉洁：形容隐士的情怀像玉石一般洁白无瑕。箕岩：箕山的岩壑。箕山在今河南省登封县东南，亦名许由山，唐尧时高士许由隐居于箕山之下、颖水之阳。金声：形容前贤的名声像黄金一般光辉明亮。濑：指沙石上流过的急水。沂：崖岸。
卷华藏纷雾，振褐拂埃尘。
注释：卷华句：美丽的花朵掩藏在浓密的雾里。褐：兽毛或粗麻制成的短衣，本系穷人所服，此指隐居避世者粗朴的衣物。
迹从尺蠖曲，道与腾龙伸。
注释：迹：行为、行止、行迹。尺蠖：一种昆虫的幼虫，俗称造桥虫，虫体细长，行动时能屈伸变形。道：一般指人生观、世界观、政治主张或思想体系。腾龙：在空中飞腾的龙。
峻无单豹伐，分非首阳真。
注释：峻：高大。单豹：古之高士。伐：功劳。分：名分、才赋。首阳：山名，在今山西省永济县南，相传为上古时著名高士伯夷、叔齐两兄弟隐居采薇之处，此处亦以首阳山名代指夷、齐二人。真：真诚、真实。
长啸归林岭，潇洒任陶钧。
注释：林岭：树林与山岭，泛指隐居之处。潇洒：洒脱、毫无拘束的样子。陶钧：原为制作陶器时所用的转轮，此处引申为创。

支遁（314-366），字道林，世称支公，也称林公，别称支硎，本姓关。陈留（今河南开封市）人，或说河东林虑（今河南林县）人。东晋高僧、佛学家、文学家。他初隐余杭山，25岁出家，曾居支硎山，后于剡县（今浙江省嵊县）沃洲小岭立寺行道，僧众百余。晋哀帝时应诏进京，居东安寺讲道，三年后回剡而卒。他精通佛理，有诗文传世。据文献记载，《神骏图》画的是支遁爱马的故事。
