往岁晋国逢阳九，蕴隆虫虫戌连酉。蹲鸱乌昧何处寻，壑转老羸壮者走。
柱后惠文此时虚，萑苻潢池啸聚有。弹压咸思暴胜之，绣衣持斧频回首。
有命一朝畀苏天，孺文风采已先传。国人望君如望岁，蚤见河汾春色妍。
累疏乞休休未得，幡然受赠绕朝鞭。西来马首澄清始，惠露仁风溥大千。
乱民乱绳理不急，卖剑买牛旋自戢。去甚亡何害马驱，劳来未久蜚鸿集。
得情惟念孑遗馀，谳狱每为累囚泣。一意平反挽太和，雨旸时若蒸民粒。

毕自严，（一作曰岩）字景会（一作景曾），淄川人(今淄博市周村区王村镇万家村）。天启、崇祯年间任户部尚书，掌管全国财政。在财源枯竭、入不敷出的情况下，毕自严精心协调、精打细算，支撑明朝财政近10年，功在社稷。毕自严万历二十年弱冠时进士及第，授松江推官。他年少有大才，尤善于综理复杂的经济事务。先后任刑部主事、工部员外郎、淮徐道参议、河东副使、洮岷兵备参议、陕西右布政使，泰昌元年升为太仆寺卿，跻身九卿之列。
