老氏育先天，发皤颜若童。驾言西极游，紫气满关中。
绪出五千言，著名河上公。犹龙仙驭远，谁复叩玄风。
畔援汨天真，优游伏鸩戎。妍媸浑莫辨，五色令人懵。

毕自严，（一作曰岩）字景会（一作景曾），淄川人(今淄博市周村区王村镇万家村）。天启、崇祯年间任户部尚书，掌管全国财政。在财源枯竭、入不敷出的情况下，毕自严精心协调、精打细算，支撑明朝财政近10年，功在社稷。毕自严万历二十年弱冠时进士及第，授松江推官。他年少有大才，尤善于综理复杂的经济事务。先后任刑部主事、工部员外郎、淮徐道参议、河东副使、洮岷兵备参议、陕西右布政使，泰昌元年升为太仆寺卿，跻身九卿之列。
